Same sex unions are not a "belief," though, Em. They are a civil union same as every other legal marriage in this country. A religious marriage is above and beyond that to satisfy an individual's "beliefs."that's my boy right there!

The difference being basquebromance
Previous Presidents weren't like Obama pushing LGBT beliefs and agenda
on the rest of the nation while COMPLAINING against Christians doing that with their beliefs.
Obama admitted he "changed his mind on same sex marriage"
but then proceeded to impose this "choice" on everyone else by
pushing THAT political belief through govt by "establishing laws"
trying to recognize LGBT identity/orientation as a CLASS (instead of
recognizing these as BELIEFS equal to Christian beliefs that were
starting to get penalized by law)
So that's the difference.
Like the difference between a President being Catholic or Prolife and
NOT IMPOSING their personal beliefs and bias on the rest of the nation
that isn't require to change their beliefs to comply with law and govt.
BTW Eleanor Roosevelt supposedly had lesbian relationships,
and was still one of the most respected First Lady's -- also keeping
her private life out of public policy and NOT making political statements about it!
Obama didn't "push" his beliefs on anyone. He did not force a single person to marry someone of the same sex. I promise you.
