Meanwhile in the People’s Republic

This is going to get real interesting soon with the Hyatt case going back to the Supremes and SALT starting to bite hard.

"If the other roommates were to move out, Leyla would need to find roommates to share the place or foot the entire $6000+ monthly rent herself," Lewis wrote in an email to Pirnie and her father.

Huh ??
If The Others All Move Out
Aren't They In Violation Of Their Leases
And Find Sub-Letters
Or Pay The Full Contract Themselves ??

Even if the gun is legally owned, the land lord still has the right to say no guns allowed on their property just like they can say no pets and no smoking or liquor allowed too. Its their property and so they can do whatever they want to with it.

God bless you always!!!

Then the landlord should be liable-civilly AND criminally-if anything happens to her. Not allowing guns should result in the landlord being responsible for the safety of the renters, since they are not allowed to protect themselves, with anything short of armed guards on duty 24 hours a day/365 days a year being deemed negligent.

The legality all depends on the language of the LEASE the tenant signed. If the owner prohibited firearms in the lease, and the tenant signed it, then the Landlord can possible win a case. However, I would NEVER live in a property that put me at risk by prohibiting legally owned firearms.

How could it be legal for anyone to search someone's property due to a MAGA hat? That's not evidence of a crime, so even if the lease forbids guns, if that gun is found as the result of a completely illegal search, then that gun doesn't exist in the eyes of the law. So the landlord is in a somewhat sticky legal situation.
