Yes, instead of lowering the age of consent to 16 to match what it was for heterosexual sex, they should have raised the age of consent for heterosexuals to 18.

Half my family is from the South...so, tell us...what ARE the ages of consent in the Southern states? Lots of 16 year old levels...at least they are getting away from the 14 year old mark. Progress.

The connotation you gave was far more than that. I've lived in the south for about 10 years, 2 in Georgia, 8 in North Carolina, I didn't know anyone married at those ages. Once again it's your assumption that if we don't ban something legally that means we are in favor of it.
