Michigan’s Republican Party Is Broke

July 15, 2023 at 12:29 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 135 Comments

The Michigan Republican Party has about $93,000 in its bank accounts 16 months before the November 2024 presidential election, a revelation GOP insiders said paints an alarming financial picture for a political party that had full control of state government five years ago,” the Detroit News reports.

A little over a year away from Presidential Election, and Michigan Republicans don't have enough money to spend state and local elections, not to mention seats in the House and Senate.

What a way to run a state party.

The Republicans in Michigan are smarter than you think. The way the districts are gerrymandered, they will be easy to defend GOP held seats with little money spent.

Not without money, and that is in very short supply. Also, as it stands Republicans has lost control of legislature in the last election. To defend seats they need money and right now, they ain't got a whole lot of it.

I bet you Communist shitbags are all giddy over having no opposition to say "NO!!!" to your diseased agenda.

Which is why they lost both houses of the state assembly and the governorship for the first time in decades, cult boy?

Who cares. They could have managed their party's finances as expenditures conservatively. They can't even handle party finance. It is unlikely the people will turn state finances over to them.

Like they say, 'Don't Go Woke, Go Broke'!

If Republicans want to win back the Presidency in 2024, Michigan will be one of the key states as it was in 2016 and 2020

Doesnt look good

With only 93K banked, they will be doing good to defend seats at state and local level. National Campaigns are big money and they just ain't got it.

Biden AND Democrats Raised $72 Million Plus-For His 2024 Race Since He Opened His Campaign In April.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden and the Democratic National Committee raised more than $72 million for his reelection in the 10 weeks since he announced his 2024 candidacy, his campaign announced Friday, in a strong but not record performance by an incumbent.

That is all the money raised between April 25, when Biden made his announcement, and the end of June, and includes donations to his campaign and to a network of joint fundraising arrangements with the national and state parties. By comparison, President Barack Obama raised $85.6 million during the April-to-June quarter in 2011 when he launched his campaign for a second term, though he announced his candidacy three weeks earlier that April than did Biden.

In 2019, then-President Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee raised a combined $105 million in the second quarter — about $80,000 per day more than Biden took in this year, when Biden was benefiting from higher campaign finance donation limits due to inflation. Biden’s campaign still celebrated the haul, noting they were looking to avoid maxing out their most enthusiastic donors, as Trump did in 2020 when he faced fundraising shortfalls in the final months of the campaign.

That is for a National Campaign. Michigan ReNaziKlans have only 93K banked, barely enough to cover state and local races. ReNaziKlans lost control of the state house in 2022. As it stands, what little bank they have will be need for state races. Gerrymander don't mean shit when you cannot finance state races.

Yeah, their so smart that they only 93K banked a year out from the National Election. That is not exactly a brain trust.

Basically Broke, Michigan GOP To Charge Delegates To Attend Convention.

LANSING — The cash-strapped Michigan Republican Party will require delegates to help cover the cost of next month's state convention in Lansing, where they'll gather to decide who will lead the party for the next two years.

The state party's central committee on Thursday voted to change convention rules by imposing a new $50 registration fee on delegates who will be selected at upcoming county conventions.

Delegates who don’t pay by Jan. 26 deadline can still attend the Feb. 17-18 convention in Lansing by paying a $75 same-day registration fee.
