I'm not the least bit ashamed to say that I don't understand them.

How do they work?

How many of them must one have to make one full reputation point?

I'd just like to know, because it's weird to me that I have so many of them, and when I "rep" someone, he/ she tends to get 150 or more points from me; but when someone reps me, I never get over 15 points from it — ever.

Not complaining.

Not a troublemaker.

Just wanna know how this charade works.

Would sending USMB a check for $50 buy me some rep points?

I do not give negative reps to anyone, FTR.

Thanks.

Your 351 rep power would raise someone else's rep power by a third of a point (so it would register as no change or 1 point change).

My 7765 rep power would raise your rep power by 7.765 points.

I just repped you and now your rep power reads 359. So that registered as 8 points change for you.

If you send me $5, I will lobby for you.

Sum'in smells kinda fishy.

We still talkin' 'bout micropoints, or are we talkin' 'bout hotel rooms now?

If rw's sent me money, I'd be tempted to turn my rep on.

But, "micro-points"?

Really?

Yousens crack me up.

All I can, or will, say is that I learned the term from a mod here.

And the mod said they are confusing to him/ her/ it, too.

I just wanted to start a thread about them to:

1) get a clue about what's going on, and
2) use a big funky forum word, so as to seem as though I already know what's going on.

Done, and done.

Cheers.

My rep raised him 7 points.
Interesting to see what I am worth, lol.

Thank you.

I will take all the points I can get — especially the kind mentioned by good ol' rocker Bob Seger in his classic, Night Moves.

"... Set of points all her own, sittin' way up high."

(I guess I should get back to the songs about prostitution thread, huh? My mind is gone.)
