Military assault rifles are not single shot semi autos

Nuf said, so they should not be banned until cigarettes that kill 500,000 people a year are banned first.

Your statement in the OP is correct. Unfortunately, the reason for your statement is that you're an idiot. :smoke:
Um ya know, u might, um ya know be well ya know be um ya know right. Quote from Caroline Kennedy

Single shot refers to the number of rounds fired when the trigger is pulled once without being released and pulled again.

Single shot is how many rounds are fired when the trigger is pulled.

That is not what the term “single shot” is understood to mean, when it is spoken among people who know anything about guns. The term is understood to specifically refer to a gun without a magazine, into which only one round is loaded at a time.

A semi auto fires a single shot when the trigger is pulled and held. People who understand guns do understand this, it's also a fact which differentiates a semi auto from a burst or full auto gun which fires several to all of the rounds in the magazine when the trigger is pulled and held one time.

Semi-automatic means the firearm automatically re-cycles a round into the chamber from a clip or other type of magazine. An automatic firearm continues to fire as long as the trigger is held back and ammunition remains in the magazine.

The problems are two, one being that these guns look identical if you are looking at a shooter, and two that most people seem not to understand that 1 shot per trigger pull is different than 500 to 800 per minute from 1 trigger pull.
