Military Men Chase Down Protesters Flying Upside-Down American Flag

The servicemen did not lay a finger on the guys on the scooter. The flag was dropped, not physically taken from the scooter guys. If the scooter guys has stayed rather than retreating, what would have happened? Perhaps they would have received an ass kicking. Perhaps not! Who is to say the service men would not have given the scooter guys a nice cussing out?

Yes, it is wrong to infringe on someone's right to free speech. However, each person needs to use common sense in exercising free speech. Don't walk up to a tough guy in a bar and call the lady on his arm a whore. He will proceed to violate your right to free speech in a violent way. The guys on the scooter did the equivalent of calling The Lady our service men fought for a whore!

Your hypothetical is trying to compare a personal insult with political speech.
That doesn't really work.

The whole point is that there is no difference. Insults and political speech have exactly the same protections.

They're both "free speech". Simple as that.

You don't get to interfere in this manner with someone's political free speech in the public square. Those service personnel are in big trouble.

what law did they break?

answer: none

Did they interfere with them? Did they intimidate them? Yup, they are in trouble and you are showing lack of comprehension. Once again.

They're both free speech but Bob's trying to compare the motivational reactions of a guy in a bar who's been insulted personally, with those of a political protest.

Freedom of speech, idiot military men. I guess it are just some stupid nationalists. If thos men want to hang the flag upside-down, it's their natural right which shouldn't be oppressed.

No, because you haven't stopped me.

See?

Now if you came into my house and took this laptop away (shades of Sean Hannity) then you'd have an analogy.

they threw the flag down....

see

See video, 0:44 (where, as the caption says, "U.S. Marine and soldier chase down hippie protestors and take flag back") to 1:13 (where they're walking away with somebody else's property.

See?

I guess you missed the part where the protesters threw the flag to the ground (0:46). Any good citizen would pick up the flag from the ground.

Good old liberal "revising".

I guess you missed the part noted at 0:44 which tells us why it was dropped. Not to mention the 'orders' they were barking as they chased the scooter. Not to mention the end of that passage where they walked away with it. And bunched up, not rolled up as the narrator says.

Thought you were leaving? Don't you have some multitude of unrelated videos to quote somewhere?

Protesters intimidate each other all the time. Or is voicing a contrary opinion against a liberal now considered "interference"?

If those guys would of grabbed the flag away from the scooter pair, I would say yes. But the facts are they sped off and threw the flag on the ground.

We can speculate what would of happened if they would of stood their ground. Maybe the Marines would of just got in their face and yelled at them. Who knows.

Not too many Freedom of Speech loving liberals stood up for this protester:

And that is exactly the point you're missing. It should be obvious that many take deliberate and malicious disrespect for the flag as a grievous personal insult. The flag is a symbol that represents the American people-not the government or a political stance.

Thank you for admitting they were intimidated.

did they?

If you were holding a sign saying "down with Obama" (or whatever) and somebody took it away and walked off with it, would your protest have been interfered with?

Take your time, this is a pretty deep question...

The answer is yes. Not that hard. These Marines didn't grab the flag away from them, they picked it up off the ground after it was thrown there.

Here is an example:

Are you catching on yet?

I know you're just itchin' to change this thread into your multitude of unrelated videos because you can't handle the one in the OP but they're still irrelevant.

Why was the flag dropped?
And who walked away with it?

Exactly.

Was the protester's throwing of rocks not an actual crime? What is so much more interesting about the flag conflict?
