Mitt Romney 'formally not invited' to CPAC after impeachment vote on witnesses

A few of them do. Collins also voted with Romney. Why can't our party have unity like the Democrat party? Every Democrat voted for witnesses. We can never do that with our party, because these phony Republicans sneak their way in.
Lol..yeah the Democrats are unified...LOL..No Trump supporters march in lock step. One misstep and you’re out. That is unity.

Really? So no Democrats voted out of party line, two Republicans did, and we are the party of unity? I fail to see the logic of that. Go back to the Clinton impeachment and see how that vote went. The exact same way. So don't tell me that the Republicans march in lockstep more than the Democrats.
Absolutely Republicans are more unified. Two Republicans broke ranks on a vote they knew they knew the Republicans would win. . One was Susan Collins who is in a tough re-election bid. She was given a pass by McConnell. Nah, Democrats are always fighting amongst themselves. As I said Trump supporters march as one. Anyone one out of step is expelled or shunned.

Oh, you mean like the late James Trafficant?
Trafficant is a good example. He was corrupt and the Democrats got rid of him. Trump is 100 times worse than Trafficant ever was and Republicans rally around him. Not only rally around Trump but throw the Constitution out the door to defend him as well. Thanks for bringing Trafficant up.

Corruption is a requirement to be a Democrat politican. Trafficant got booted because he was like our Romney or McCain, just much more animated. He went against his party all the time by preaching common sense and doing what was right for the country instead of the party.

I don't think this is strategically smart for CPAC when the republican party is losing many of it's moderates. They should have let the impeachment fade into the background and said nothing. Why alienate voters when you don't have to. Makes no sense to me.

Half black.

Naaaaah, if they're black at all, they're black. That's the rule here. The U.S. has retired the old terms of mulatto and quadroon and so on. My personal favorite genetic term in New Orleans 1800s is a Sambo -- you can look it up if you're interested. (Oh, okay, it was the offspring of a mulatto and a black...…...wait...…….isn't that applicable to......never mind.).

Naaaaaah, I'm pretty sure it was because of the bad hair.

Traifficant must have given Trump some ideas.

Who?

He was a shit starter in Congress.

I know who Jim "Traficant" is. He was entertaining as hell.

I don't think they are pissing off anybody. Romney has been a problem for many years. Even if he switched parties, I don't think it would hurt Republicans one bit, especially if we got a real Republican to take his place.

Oh, when you asked "who" I assumed you never knew who he was. Perhaps you were younger or got into politics later in life. He was great, but went against the Democrats one too many times.

Trafficant was for Trafficant like Trump is for Trump. I find it strange that you accuse the Democrats of corruption and YOU back two crooks, Trafficant and Trump. Me thinks you doth project. You apparently like your politicians corrupt.

Just like Trump. Who’d figure that Trump supporters and Trafficant supporters were one in the same. I’ll have to remember this. It says a helluva lot. Corruption is secondary to the entertainment value they provide.

What are "real" republicans? Why can't the republican party have diverse ideology while still supporting the party platform? Don't you think it's important to have representatives that can work across the aisle. To require all members be in lock step doesn't seem like it would promote democracy but rather the opposite. That's kinda scary.

I find it strange that Democrats think its illegal for a Trump to look into Democrat corruption.

Well WTF do you think the Democrat party is all about? It's only recently there have been some new problems because of the Socialists. But look how they voted yesterday, and as I said, same with Clinton. Clinton clearly committed a crime higher than a misdemeanor, and yet five Republicans still voted against throwing him out of office.

As always, Rush is right. Rush repeatedly said there is no getting along with the Democrats. They see us as their worst enemy. The only way to get along with Democrats is to do things their way whether they are in power or not. So don't even try.

Reagan learned the hard way, Trump is learning the hard way, and there is no middle ground between good and evil.

I find it truly strange that you Trumpist love their politicians corrupt provided that 1. They provide entertainment value and 2. Support their positions. They do those two things, quid pro quo away.

There was really nothing corrupt about either. Trafficant's only problem was he decided to defend himself instead of getting a good lawyer. Trump is far from corrupt, unless you want to admit Biden and DumBama are corrupt as well, because what Trump got accused of, Biden and DumBama already did.

Wow..what a sad post. You see the world as black and white and it is not that way, Rush has been spewing his brand of hate for the past thirty years. It shows. People like you have bought into his brand of garbage without question. I guess you missed all the times that Rush said he was an entertainer. An entertainer who makes tens of millions off of the gullible.

What planet do you live on? In your world everyone is a victim. Trafficant is victim. Trump is a victim. Yeah, Save this BS victimhood argument for the Trumper. It won’t work on me or the sane middle.

Rush Limbaugh? al-righty .......... So much for civil discussion.

Not sure if there was a thread on this yet or not, I didn't see one in Politics.

Judging by reactions online, there are a number of conservatives who are angry:

Mitt Romney 'formally not invited' to CPAC after impeachment vote on witnesses

The chairman of CPAC announced that Utah Sen. Mitt Romney is "formally not invited" to the conservative group's annual conference this year.

Matt Schlapp, the head of the American Conservative Union, said Romney is not allowed at the event after the Utah Republican voted in favor of summoning witnesses in the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump. Romney was one of two Republicans who joined 47 Democrats in supporting the motion, which failed to pass on Friday.

"BREAKING: The 'extreme conservative' and Junior Senator from the great state of Utah, @SenatorRomney is formally NOT invited to #CPAC2020," Schlapp wrote in a tweet, which featured a photo of a troubled-looking Romney.

As I said the other day, Romney should make it official and switch parties to Democrat then move his useless ass to California because the Mormons won't have him anymore. San Fagcisco would better suit the asshole where there'll be more of his kind around like Pelosi, Harris etc. Or maybe LA where he can hob-nob with Baggy Lips Waters and Schiff for brains.
