The 94m does not include 80 year olds. Why are you pretending to be a moron? And why shouldn't 16year olds have a part time job? They can drive can't they? Did you treat your 16year olds as useless cripples? You think nobody will notice?
STILL...., 94,031,000 Americans not working.
CNS News reported:
A record 94,031,000 Americans were not in the American labor force last month — 261,000 more than July — and the labor force participation rate stayed stuck at 62.6 percent, a 38-year low, for a third straight month in August, the Labor Department reported on Friday, as the nation heads into the Labor Day weekend.
You think 16 year olds and 80 year olds should be working?
You bastard
To the Right, 80 year olds are not over 16 years of age.The 94m does not include 80 year olds.
Name the last president who didn't have a record number of people who were not in the labor force......You think nobody will notice?

You're a fucking retard. The only 80 year olds who are not included in that 94 million are ones who are working or actively looking for work. According to your demented rightwingnut brain, 100% of 80 year olds are either working or actively looking for a job.The 94m does not include 80 year olds. You think nobody will notice?

You'd think after 7 years of great news, the Obama economy wouldn't suck.
The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index®, which had declined in July, rebounded in August. The Index now stands at 101.5 (1985=100), up from 91.0 in July. The Present Situation Index increased from 104.0 last month to 115.1 in August, while the Expectations Index improved to 92.5 from 82.3 in July.
And the August report has a history of underreporting the number of new jobs. ADP's job report shows 190,000 new jobs based on payroll reports.Analysts were predicting that the jobs report would come out showing about 225,000 jobs were created. I was reading a piece in the weekend edition of USA Today about the Fed's decision whether or not to raise interest rates would probably be decided by whether the actual number was above 225,000 or under it. What the OP doesn't seem to grasp is that 173,000 is a disappointing number not one to relish because it was 50,000 jobs less than had been anticipated.
So? That's a preliminary number and August figures are typically revised upwards.Analysts were predicting that the jobs report would come out showing about 225,000 jobs were created. Thank you, President Obama (praise be unto Him!)The unemployment rate fell from 5.3% to 5.1%, lowest since March 2008.

Why would extensions matter? People who want or need work don't stop looking for work when unemployment insurance runs out.You are correct, but is it "dropping out" or "leaving?" Those not in the labor force, want a job now went down. Marginally attached went down . Discouraged workers went down. The drop in the labor force was people who don't want or need a job.A gain of just 173,000 jobs and a 0.2% drop in the unemployment rate are not congruent.
This effect is generally equated with more people dropping out of looking for jobs.
Anyone who follows this stuff knows that.
Where are you getting that number from?We need at LEAST 250,000 jobs for an extended period to achieve escape velocity.
.
The drop was because people don't want or need a job and not because of no more extensions?
Are you retarded?
That's not true. They stop counting you in the labor force participation rate when you turn 64. It's 16-64. The key to understanding why... is Working Age non-institutionalized Population. Working age ends right now at 64. OR... I'm wrong. Perhaps my understanding has been .. incorrect. You're a fucking retard. Not in the labor force (Current Population Survey)
Includes persons aged 16 years and older in the civilian noninstitutional population who are neither employed nor unemployed in accordance with the definitions contained in this glossary. Information is collected on their desire for and availability for work, job search activity in the prior year, and reasons for not currently searching.
Unemployed persons (Current Population Survey)
Persons aged 16 years and older who had no employment during the reference week, were available for work, except for temporary illness, and had made specific efforts to find employment sometime during the 4-week period ending with the reference week. Persons who were waiting to be recalled to a job from which they had been laid off need not have been looking for work to be classified as unemployed.
