As I understand it, in 1992 Republicans had controlled the White House for 12 years, and "New Democrats" like Bill and Hill decided the only way they could ever win again was by jettisoning their working-class base and start taking money from corporations (Tech and Finance).

In 2010 the SCOTUS ruling on Citizens United made the situation much worse.

Yes, I know we have discussed the Democratic Party's turning once before. Labour in the UK did the same around the same time. Corbyn grabbed the party back for a few years but the Right of the Party worked against the Party at that time, believing it was better that Labour lose in the election than that a left wing Government get in, so since then we have been similar to you with really just all offering the same. The left in the Labour Party have been thrown out. No one could speak up like your quartet. They would be out of the party quicker than they could move. To top it all off the US said that if the people of the UK voted for Corbyn, they would make sure he never became PM. As things are now we could not elect a left wing Party.

I wasn't meaning the Democrats not noticing what was going on if you thought that was what I said, I meant Democracies not noticing anything wrong as long as they get a vote every few years. Yes I absolutely know about your Politicians being bought and having to do what their buyer wants. It is becoming the same in the UK but I don't think they as yet get as much money but if we want our Democracies back that is one of the first things which needs to be changed. I heard the President of China saying they were not a Capitalist country. He said the US was. They had the Capitalists making the decisions of Government - meaning this bribery.
