Obama will destroy more good jobs with his global warming bullcrap:mad:. This is how Obama sides with the working people right? Shutting down power plants, increasing energy bills for everyone. He won't allow us to exploit our energy reserves or build keystone increasing the costs of fuel for everyone. Anyone been to the grocery store lately? Food prices are though the roof. While Obama and the liberal, nutjob, environmentalist, fascist, shut down our farmers in California and elsewhere. China's economy is still growing. Ours not so much. So while we shut down our coal plants, China builds them at a feverish pace. all this equals the downsizing of the U.S. economy, fewer jobs, less wealth, and a lower standard of living for we working Americans trying to make a decent living...Obama is an impediment to that.

Just another step forward in his efforts to bring this country to its knees.

So what has Obama's administration done to help the utilities to use less CO2 emission source?
Instead he said: "if somebody wants to build coal utility plant it’s just that it will bankrupt them"
Obama :"I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program"
That means he wants 1,300 health insurance companies go out of business that pay $100 billion in taxes and employ 400,000!
Those are destruction steps...

Actually China is turning to renewable energy as they are having big issues with the pollution from all their coal plants.
"China is now the world’s biggest wind-power generator and largest market for solar panels. With the completion of the controversial Three Gorges Dam, which displaced 1.2 million people along the Yangtze River, China is now the world’s top hydro-energy producer." http://seattletimes.com/html/specialreportspages/2023538675_chinawindmainbarxml.html
Yeah, they are still burning coal but they are converting many of their old plants to a cleaner method and all their new plants are required to meet higher standards regarding emissions.
So in other words, China is trying to clean up their act.
Also. I think there's a bi-partisan war on the Middle Class. The GOP hasn't done the Middle Class any favors with wit their stances on equal pay for women. fighting the increase of the minimum wage (which historically had a ripple effect one Middle Class wages) and Ryan's attempt to privatize Medicare which would cause financial havoc on Middle Class retirees.

Yes, and here is proof of disappearing jobs, in America:

The American economy is less entrepreneurial now than at any point in the last three decades. That's the conclusion of a new study out from the Brookings Institution, which looks at the rates of new business creation and destruction since 1978.

Not only that, but during the most recent three years of the study -- 2009, 2010 and 2011 -- businesses were collapsing faster than they were being formed, a first. Overall, new businesses creation (measured as the share of all businesses less than one year old) declined by about half from 1978 to 2011.

For graph, go to: U.S. businesses are being destroyed faster than they?re being created

Which was WHAT I was asking why Obama wants to BANKRUPT utilities rather then HELP them as China is in converting!
Couple of questions (I know the answer but see if you can answer..... who owns the power plants in China and who pays for the conversion?

Well maobama said under his plan electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. If he had kept his word in the first term there wouldn't have been second, now he doesn't think he has anything to lose. I think he was a bit too confident and played his hand a bit early, because this could be a major issue for 2014. What we really need is a veto proof congress which means we need to unseat some well entrenched commies. I don't think it will happen, but that's the only way to stop the SOB.

there's still ways to retire in 3-4 years. You just can't be lazy, ignorant, undisciplined, etc, and do it, so almost nobody wants to bother to even learn how, much less actually follow thru on it. :) dead rock simple, anyone who can tie their shoes can do it.

stop expecting others to provide a job for you and instead, figure out ways to make your own money. it's pretty easy, if you can think, ask around, study a bit. Use google.

Coal fired electric generation plants are a thing of the past. Natural gas is the new wave in electric production. The main reason is that NG is cheaper and plentiful..and is available locally, whereas coal is not..China is building a lot of coal fired plants, but have a real serious issue with air pollution.

Food, just like oil is a futures market driven price setter. With droughts ,floods, and disease occurring the prices of many items are increasing, also note that more humans on the planet means higher prices also..

I do, I build fires on my land and set around them...cook dinner also...

A majority of China's power plants are state owned, there is also municipal ownership. The state pays for the conversion. Also, China is asking the rich countries to help pay for the conversions.

Prediction threads are so funny. Cons gather around the camp fire and tell each other scary fiction and thank each other.

You don't have to gather around any camp fire, the scary stories are right in front of your face. But to see them, you have to open your eyes and remove the rose colored glasses.

The reality of the dropoff of new entrants into the business world, and especialy the negative growth rate of new businesses, should shake the blinders loose on some of you loons. That is a symptom of a serious economic disease. A potentially fatal economic disease.

Over regulation creating significant barriers to starting and/or maintaining a small business, has tilted the economic playing field too far in favor of large business, and is killing business competition. If small and medium sized businesses are the driving force of our economy, and job creation, and they are dying, we are in deep economic trouble for the foreseeable future.
