Obama told you he would make it too expensive to build new coal power plants. Most coal fired power plants are 40 years old. No one is investing in new ones.

Who would you stop?I wouldn't stop investors.

USA has inexhaustible supply of natural gas and thus is very worrisome to green freak lib loons.
Who would you stop?
The leftists globalclimatewarmingchange kooks were suing coal fired plants 20 years ago. Obama quadrupled the EPA just like he promised.Lolo let's go back 20 years before Obama. Investors are not interested in coal fired power plants.

and "by the year 2000 we will have run out of oil" [we were also headed for an ice-age]...and if ya believe the 70 year malarkey then banning it is completely unnecessary...it will phase itself out. They are saying 70 years of natural gas.

it's hard to believe anyone would still consider coal a threat after reading that eh?...not sure why ya posted this to me but it makes trump look/sound like an environmentalist...in the mold of thatcher of course.By the end of 2020, the number of producing coal mines in the United States fell to 551 mines, the lowest number since U.S. coal production peaked in 2008. In 2020, 40 coal mines were opened or reactivated, and 151 mines were idled or closed. This overall decrease resulted in an 18% annual decline in the total number of producing coal mines from 2019 and a 62% decline since 2008. Shutting down less efficient mines while adding relatively few new mines and reactivating few idled mines resulted in the reduction in 2020.
and this comes to me because...?Peak oil was farce in the 1950s. It was a political ruse because US oil couldn't compete with foreign production.
alright then, just apply it to "they"I don't want to ban natural gas.
hmmm, do you happen to have the "MW" for a windmill?Power plant owners and operators report planned retirements and additions to EIA in our annual and monthly electric generator surveys. The last large (greater than 100 MW) coal-fired power plant built in the United States was the 932 MW Sandy Creek Energy Station in Texas, which came online in 2013. As of September 2022, developers have not reported any plans to build new U.S. coal-fired capacity in the future.

"Climate change must be addressed" is a faulty premise for this argument. It's bullshit and the entire premise needs to go on trial. That's like if AR15s were banned for the reason that people don't need them to hunt, and the counterargument starts with agreeing that people should only have guns for hunting, and then arguing that AR15s are good hunting rifles. No. The Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting, and gas stoves have nothing to do with the climate. The nation’s first natural gas ban is repealed but advocates seek other ways to ban stoves
With billions of dollars flowing to nonprofits dedicated to eliminating natural gas use, there are similar laws across the U.S. that have passed or are being considered.justthenews.com
“Climate change must be addressed, but piecemeal policies at the local level like bans on natural gas piping in new buildings or all-electric ordinances, which are preempted by federal law, are not the answer,” said Jot Condie, CEO of the California Restaurant Association, in a statement.
It seems economic impact of these policies are not usually considered, or even calculated in the least.
To what IMPACT will the gas stove ban "save the planet"?
Can it even be empirically proven that banning gas stoves will "save the planet"?
Seems like a play to sell more electric stoves. How about the carbon impact of manufacturing new electric stoves to replace gas stoves? What about the solid waste of the trashed gas stoves?
THIS IS A BIG WIN FOR THE SANE.
So who are the coal mining labor unions really representing then?Coal mining is automated. really sophisticated ... Jobs pay $150k.. There's just very few jobs. The bad part is lying to the miners that there are jobs.

Because they are afraid of bullying by greeniesMost coal fired power plants are 40 years old. No one is investing in new ones.
Like the story said, the modern Marxist aren't just going to go away. They'll keep trying to find work arounds, there's too much money at stake and they won't give up the gravy train easily,
.
I happen to believe that is a misrepresentation of the miners and what they were promised as was explained in the last election, those miners will be transitioned into the new green-energy economy/field...The bad part is lying to the miners that there are jobs.
