Native americans protest Keystone XL in Washington

Screw up that aquifer and Americans start to starve.

Why are putting the needs of the OILocracy ahead of the farmers and consumers of the food they grow?

It will not screw up the aquifer.
The pipeline is buried 4 ft in the ground.
The aquifer water is between 50 and 300 ft below the ground, any oil spill will never reach it.
They also agreed to move the pipeline away from it.

One lateral-shear earthquake near the New Madrid Fault can ruin your whole agriculture supply forever. The extremely caustic solvents will percolate their way into the water system. It's already happening in other areas. No human activity or "safeguard" is flawless. And the price for what will be destroyed is too high. It's too big to fail. Agriculture wins by default. So does fresh water.

Take your money and investments and put it into solar thermal power plants, hydrogen cars and electric cars. Biodiesel to run the bigger trucks. Leave the goddamned earth alone. It isn't here just for your generation's taking and then when your rotting carcass lies in the earth people's kids and grandkids get to suffer, starve, be poisoned and watch their tap water catch fire forever.

Screw that. GAME OVER. These cut-n-run greedy bastards are like the old gold miners. They polluted every fresh water source around with mercury they used to process the gold with. They were consumed with wealth, didn't give a plugged nickle for anyone else then or in the future. And now we are stuck with a legacy of pollution and ruined fresh water sources. And we curse them to this day. Fracking is the very same thing. Once the pollution is there, there is ZERO way to clean it out. The aquifer affected is no more viable a source of water than nuclear plant effluent.

Oh bite me  Where were all of you when these were built? Oh and how many people have starved to death because of these pipelines?

So are you running on solar or wind or a combo while you're preaching away on a computer?

yep. Once an aquifer is polluted, its game over. That aquifer is ginormous as well and Ranchers & farmers in a few states depend upon it.
