Dems was AMERICANS to suffer to finance "Dreamers". It's you duty as an evil American to turn your paycheck over to the Invaders.

It was more than that. After the housing crisis, landlords (homes/apartments, intentionally raised the rents.
They get what the market will bear. That's NOT the problem. If the government (Taxpayer) didn't subsidize tens of millions, the market would correct itself.

Nearly half of all renters can't afford their monthly payments

This is really a sad state of affairs in the US, and unfortunately those that voted for Trumpchange are going to make it worse.
Assuming that is true, it is most likely due to the grinding anemic economy under Obama and his "job swap" program. You know the one, where person X had a good job, lost it and got a new one paying half what he used to make.
