ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) –A night of violence in Rochester has a city council member calling for change.
News10NBC spoke to Mary Lupien after a series of shootings left five people injured on Thurston Road, and several windows shattered at both our studio on East Avenue and across the street at Bubble Fusion. Saturday night’s shootings near the popular East End bar district were not the first time this year.
“It's very concerning," Lupien says.
..... In June, Rochester City Council passed its budget. which included a cut in RPD funding by 3.7%. The funding saved from that was put towards a task force to "reimagine policing." RPD chief La’Ron Singletary previously said the department supports police reforms but did not believe defunding was the answer.
And once again, here is another group of people that need to be kicked out of their positions. They do not have any interest in public safety. They need to go.
