Not One Democrat Votes for Green New Deal

Why didn’t they use the opportunity to debate the issue?

There wasn't enough of a bill TO debate. It was pure show.

So McConnell outs this sham bill on the floor but refuses to put HR1 the ETHICS REFORM bill on the floor.

Oh..

You mean the sham that your party wrote and published to the public?

The only reason you'd be upset they had a vote on it is because you know what AOC published to the public was stupidity of epic proportions and by having a vote on it your party was forced to vote against, thus, acknowledging how incredibly stupid it was, but reluctant to admit. The Turtle Man embarrassed you in front of the American people for your idiocy and rightly so. The last thing you tards want is for the general public to realize what a cesspool of mental illness the Democratic Party has become.

Remember what Feinstein did to Kavenaugh with that political game and what ensued afterwards?
Nothing but a political circus

I disagree with your characterization but it's revealing to see you admit that THIS was a stunt and nothing else

Voting on a proposal that many of them endorsed is a stunt?
Of course it was a political stunt by the republicans, and all the Democrats voting no or present, was ALSO a political stunt, right back at them!

I have seen this game by both political parties, several times. Sometimes it has been the Democrats bringing up a bill and forcing the Repubs to take their stance.... of which they don't, and do just what the dems did this time, repubs voted no, or present.

It's simply their 'gaming' and a waste of our tax payer dollars

I saw that. Hilarious! Even her own co-sponsor didn't vote for it. :auiqs.jpg:

At least they were smart enough to not vote for that POS bill that would bankrupt the country if implemented.

Nice to know a few Dems have a few working brain cells.

I wish I believed it was because they're concerned about what's best for the nation, rather than being an ass-covering political calculation, ie. politicians would always rather not be nailed down on the record about anything.

The Democrats sent a clear message to Cortez. STFU and know your place!

Nah, I don't think their votes had anything to do with Occasional Cortex and refuting HER at all. I think McConnell has them all dead to rights on the fact that they wanted to stand around, murmuring approval for her "big thinking" and use weasel words about the GND to sound "pro-environment", while being assured that they would never have to actually vote in favor of the specifics.

What you apparently don't see is the Green New Deal, itself, which is so bizarre it would be laughable if it were not an attempt to create a crisis that could be exploited to bring socialism to the US. Ocasio-Cortez has said the private sector would play no role in her scheme, meaning that to achieve such a massive goal, zero carbon footprint in ten years, the government would have to take over everything. What is wrong with making the Democrats go on record about this sinister plan?

So you are admitting the Green New Deal is utter horseshit.

Dimms were forced to say the same.

no, the incomplete resolution or bill that was brought forward is utter dog poopee...

I don't know enough about the green new deal other than it being aspirational, something to aspire for, from what the candidates running for the presidency have said, not an actual piece of legislation? It has not gone through the committees that would be involved, nor has it been scored, for the cost... hard to make a commitment one way or the other without the proper protocol done yet....

The Green New Deal is a manifesto calling for sweeping changes to American society. Key goals include cutting greenhouse-gas emissions to net zero over 10 years and guaranteeing jobs for all. The plan has prominent Democratic backers, including Sens. Cory Booker (N.J.), Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Kamala D. Harris (Calif.), Amy Klobuchar (Minn.) and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), all of whom are running for president. Many liberal and environmental groups are on board. Republicans say it’s a non-starter that reeks of socialism.

Guess they'll have to change that entry to read "The plan has prominent Democratic backers . . . unless they're asked to vote for it."

Something to be aspired to? A zero carbon footprint in ten years, which is what the Green New Deal calls for, would mean no air travel, no trans Atlantic or trans Pacific commerce, no air force, no navy. Is that what you aspire to?

China and Russia are laughing at us to even consider part of what the democrats want.
We have done more with reducing our carbon footprint than any other first world country by cutting it nearly in half.
The democrats want to reduce it to 0 while other nations just sit back and snicker at what fools do.
This is about socialism.....not about the environment.

China's laughing because they're eating our lunch on the technology and jobs of the 21st Century.

Who gives a shit what Russia does...long as they stay out of our elections and stop invading nations

Waste? How are you going to explain to children they’re going to be dead in 12 years because Democrats refused to take action?

Come on, this is fucking hilarious.

They didn’t vote for their own cosponsored deal.

They fucking wrote it, then voted against it.

If you don’t think that’s fucking hilarious, you need a sense of humor!

Mitch gave them what they wanted, a fucking vote.

Why didn’t they vote for it?

They didn’t even want to talk about it.

So fucking owned.

Mitch countered their bullshit political ploy with a better one.

So the Dimms all voted for us to die in 12years.

Seems odd.

None of them actually believe we are all going to be dead in 12 years.

This is about socialism, period.
