Yeah this is the narrative: The Republicans were mean devious people. First they got their think tank, Heritage, to design the complete bill with all the details. Then they got an industry lobbyist to write the bill in secret. No one knew who had written it. It just appeared one day. The GOP added many amendments that got passed without Democrats realizing who had proposed them or what they did. It's like Democrats were comatose for 4 months. Then the Republicans devilishly voted against ACA to make Obama and the Dems look bad for passing such awful legislation.
