The US has a much lower infection rate and death rate than the EU largely because the US banned travel from China back in January while the EU countries took much longer and the virus is spreading much faster in EU countries because they still haven't taken sufficient steps to limit travel from other countries or within the EU. What this means is that if you live in an EU country you have a much higher probability of being infected than if you live in the US and even someone as stupid, ignorant and bigoted as you are should be able to understand that if we allow people with a higher probability of being infected than Americans have, we will be raising the probability of infection in the US.

The CDC has shipped 75,000 test kits to the states but so far only a little over 7,000 people have been tested because the US has a very low rate of infection and tests are not given unless a healthcare provider requests them. By any measure the administration has done everything right and began doing it well before other advanced countries did.

More importantly, I would have like to see actual leadership. Today, I listened to a daily breifing by our own Governor Pritzker. Not a big fan, in general, but he had facts, figures, initiatives and calming words. He didn't look for people to blame or try to use racism to distract from his failures. He coordinated with people, including Mayor Lightfoot and others.

He didn't do what Trump did, announce a travel ban without consulting our allies.
