As with their amnesty for illegal aliens, liberals are again trying to buy criminal votes by not enforcing laws.

Bill Bratton Considering Amnesty For 1.2 Million Low-Level Offenders CBS New York

may 18 2015
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police Commissioner Bill Bratton is behind a controversial proposal to grant amnesty to more than 1 million people with open warrants for low-level offenses.

But some experts worry it could cause crime to skyrocket.

First he called for reduced penalties for smoking marijuana. Now, Bratton wants to explore granting amnesty to 1.2 million city residents with open warrants for low-level offenses, people who run the risk of being arrested for failing to resolve tickets for drinking in public, disorderly conduct and the like, CBS2’s Marcia Kramer reported Monday.

Suspend the driver's licenses of all of these offenders That should prompt most of them to pay their fines without costing the govt a penny like throwing them in jail would.

Absurd. As we all know, everyone should be in jail. Blow a doob? Jail. Say "shit" in front of the ladies? Prison. Run overtime on your parking meter? Throw away the key. We may lead the universe, but as long as China and India have bigger populations, they're a threat. We need everybody in jail by tomorrow morning.

Some of these charges are more than ten years old. Sometimes it just pays to clear the decks. These offenses aren't crimes, they are infractions.

Some??? How many is that? 1% or 20% ??? And even if we accept your claim that charges over 10 years old should be excused, how does that justify excusing the ones a few months old?

And this is coming from the POLICE COMMISSIONER himself!!!! He's the guy who supposed to be enforcing the laws not ignoring them. And you can bet this amnesty will have an affirmative action bias. Whites and asians will be told to pay your fine or else. It just keeps getting crazier.

1. Not all of us

2. Mayor de Blasio is a neo-Marxist.

3. Rumor has it that he had his pal, Melissa Mark-Viverito who is the Speaker of the New York City Council, push this so he can veto it an look more centrist.
Crime is up, he is anti-cop, and now want's to be President.

What a terrible idea.

It means give 'em a paper they can ignore...and will return NYC to the hell-hole it was before Giuliani.

I can't quite decide if this would "heal racial tensions" or just "give impression laws don't have to be followed." I'm leaning toward the latter.

In any event, it did bring up a good debate point for my circle so thanks for that :)

All while republicans want to sacrifice your dime & your blood to fight endless bullshit wars on a global scale that do nothing to preserve our freedoms here at home.
Sorry but the choice here is pretty obvious.

de Blasio is your typical liberal moron. What can you say of a guy so dumb he marries a lezbo.

That needs to stop too. Of course, democrats are also paid bribes by the war mongers too.

You can kinda tell who's never been to New York City ever....

Who would that be, you dunce?

You?

Not me, I grew up less than 100 miles from NYC, been there way more times than I could count. And the difference pre- and post-Giuliani as far as I could see was:

1. fewer porn shops

That's it, full stop, waiter, check please.

Why should liberals give amnesty to Republicans? Aren't they already here?

Wrong again.

This is a more accurate picture of NYC pre-Giuliani....

"Welfare rolls tripled in the decade after Johnson came to office. Unprecedented crime rates had made living in a major city a daily exercise in self-protection. Aggressive affirmative action had outraged the members of the white working class who were most directly affected. School busing had enraged parents- a rage that burned even hotter as high-profile liberals such as Teddy Kennedy piously praised public schools while sending their own children to private schools. The poverty rate, which had been dropping rapidly from the end of WWII through the first half of the 1960s, had leveled off...and stopped going down..."
Charles Murray,"By The People"

Sqeegee men washing your car window and demanding remuneration....
Signs in every car 'No Radio"
Being accosted whenever one went out after dark

"With more than one million New Yorkers on welfare, crime rates skyrocketing and an ever-worsening crack cocaine epidemic plaguing the city, the mild-mannered Dinkins had fallen out of favor and a tough-on-crime prosecutor appeared—to many—to be exactly what the city needed. Giuliani won the election and took office as New York City's 107th mayor on January 1, 1994"

Just wondering why we are not blaming the republican? Imagine if the NY mayor is democrat.

Oh give it the fuck up. He's absolutely right. What you don't realize is that many prisons today are privately owned, so they are pushing for sentences for victimless crimes.
From your link, you sorry-assed right wing dipshit:
