Rule of law is essential to Republics/democracies. I dont like the way the UN is set up but it has usefullness in easing world tensions and conflicts. Bombing a soveriegn country over internal civil war attrocities violates international law and will do nothing in the way of deterence, indeed is likely to make matters worse. Those nations who have already interfeared have made things worse. And if, as some say, Benghazzi was about covert arming of Syrian thugs then the US has made things worse in Syria on top of the chaos in Liby
