Obama omits 'under god' in ken burns Gettysburg address

This is more proof Obama is a Muslim. What he did was to show disrespect to being faithful to the speeches original words and he showed disrespect to Abraham Lincoln on the 150th anniversary. This president is a total embarrassment to the nation and the world. Why does the words 'under God' scare him?

liberal scum don't like to be 'judged'

God judges people, ergo he must be ignored

S_M and Edgetho want to trample on another American's rights to believe or not believe as he wishes, and then do the birfer Muslim smear without proof.

This is one of the reasons why the TeaPs and the far right are losing elections.

The left despises God. They are overflowing with hatred of Christianity. It motivates them, it gives them a twisted sense of purpose. They loath Christanity so much that they proclaim it is more or just as evil as a religion that executes homosexuals, oppresses women, and has caused mass genocide in the modern world (Sudan).

Consider this, of all those celebrities that supposedly give a damn about Sudan have you ever heard ONE of them proclaim who is committing those atrocities?

When you're quoting one of the greatest human beings (not coincidentally, a Republican) who ever walked the Planet, it is inexcusable to modify what he said to suit your own personal beliefs.

Unless you're a scumbag dimocrap.

But I repeat myself.

Yeah, the GOP controls a solid majority of governorships and state legislatures and are leading in polls in battle ground states. Just wait until the 2014 midterm elections, they are going to dwarf the Tea Party success of 2011. Even this president has acknowledged to political toll this administration's incompetence has had on the DNC.

But choose to live in your MSNBC constructed dream world.

What does believing have to do with misquoting a very specific (and interesting) piece from one of the greatest speeches in American history?

.

No, it isn't proof that he's a Muslim. It's just indicative that he's an overly politically correct, sensitivity stooge, which we already know.

You're right. It is not proof that he is a Muslim. It is merely indicative of the fact that he goes out of his way to keep from offending them with some utterance that may purport that Allah is not God.

There are five known copies of the Gettysburg Address. As I listened to Obama reading the Address, it became obvious he was reading John G. Nicolay's copy.

Nicolay was Lincoln's personal secretary.

This is most likely the copy that was actually read at Gettysburg, you idiot fucks. The second half of it, which is the part in dispute in this topic, was written on the grounds of Gettysburg.

Historians do believe that Lincoln honed the address in later drafts after he delivered it, but there is little disagreement about whether Lincoln uttered the words “under God” when he spoke at Gettysburg.

“Every stenographic report, good, bad and indifferent, says ‘that the nation shall, under God, have a new birth of freedom,’” wrote historian William E. Barton. “There was no common source from which all the reporters could have obtained those words but from Lincoln’s own lips at the time of delivery.”

The White House did not immediately respond to The Daily Caller’s request for comment.

JakeStarkey, that's a bunch of malarkey!

obama is a slimey POS, there's no way around it. In his lame duck presiduncey he's comfortable in exposing himself.

because he's not a "clinger" :eusa_pray: like you rw'ers generally are? 1 in 5 people are Atheists now asswipe. Deal w/ it :boohoo:

Stop that lie now. Being skeptical or free thinking or agnostic is not atheistic.

Atheists make up less than 5% of the population.

The Gettysburg Address is not an editorial comment. It says what it says, and pandering to atheists by changing the address should be a criminal offense.

We don't know if the address or the presentation was edited.

And, no, we are not going to criminalize behavior because it does not meet a religious standard.

Documentary . Hope to have a link soon

You know, I don't have a problem with O's atheism but I do have a problem with him pushing it on others, and in the most manipulative and secretive way, in which he is doing that and everything else to undermine America's traditions in favor of all things, Muslim. :eusa_hand:

I agree, plus Obama's not attending the 150 year anniversary is inexcusable!

Another nice avatar by the way.

Thousands gather to commemorate 150th anniversary of Gettysburg Address | Fox News

President Barack Obama declined an invitation. Park officials say Rutherford B. Hayes is the last sitting president to attend a Nov. 19 event in Gettysburg.

Hayes was President 1877-81

Meaning no President attended celebrations for the 25th, 50th, 75th, 100th or 125th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address
