When Republicans were forced to come up with alternatives for Obamacare, high-deductible plans were core to those proposals. "Conservatives have suggested deregulating Obamacare’s exchanges to make it easier to provide policies with high deductibles," wrote Ramesh Ponnuru. One of those conservatives was right-wing darling Dr. Ben Carson. "In order to right the ship, we need to return the responsibility for good health care to the patient and the health care provider," he said. "One of the best ways to do this is through health savings accounts, which patients can control."
This always baffled Obamacare's supporters. "The minimal, or bronze, insurance option allows out-of-pocket spending of up to $12,500 for a family of four," wrote Jonathan Cohn. "Those are some pretty high deductibles!"
Now that those high deductibles are here, Republicans have decided that they are, if anything, too high. Just one more broken promise.

What is stopping anyone from increasing thresholds for health savings accounts?

If they did, would Republicans vote for it?

Take your "wonkblog" and shove it. It's B.S. REPUBLICANS were blocked from even attending committee hearings on Obamacare. Not one single Republican voted for Obamacare--the first time in this nations history that a bill passed without one single vote of approval from the minority party.

IOW--Democrats OWN Obamacare

Nice try though--LOL

Did you miss the Medical Saving Part of Dr Carson's Plan?

High deductible for big ticket along with a MSA that YOU OWN and can pass on to your estate

You lefties reek with the odor of desperation. Don't you ever get tired of having to defend this epic failure? Do you ever get the feeling that there must be something wrong with it if you have to fight so hard to defend it? Of course you don't. That would require self-realization, logic, and a conscience.

Many have been proposed, you're being disingenuous again, as you always do when you don't think anyone will put forth a retort to your BS! One of the newer ones is Bobby Jindal’s Plan:

Yes, There's A Republican Health Care Plan: Bobby Jindal's Plan | RedState

Anyone can put forth a healthcare plan

I have yet to see a plan in which Republicans take it and say.....this is what we want to do. There is an election this year.....why don't Republcans run on Jindals plan?

Democrats lied to pass the legislation. They lied to hang onto office so Republicans couldn't reverse what they did. They didn't trust what the electorate would do if the electorate was informed, so they lied.

That's what I care about. Democrats violated democratic principles.

The ends do not justify the means.

The simple fact is, as you know, and try to hide behind, is that anything presented by the House Republican's is automatically dead from the communist, subversive, corrupt to the bone ,Senate Majority leader "Dirty: Harry Reid refusing to even bring anything before the Senate that the House sends him. Can you deny it, without us putting out Youtubes where he states as much?

They have no difficulty in passing Over 50 repeal bills, yet have not passed a single bill to make Obamacare better.

If they are serious, run on Republican healthcare in 2014. But we all know they are not serious because they cannot come up with a better alternative

The entire point is Republicans were blocked from attending committee hearings on Obamacare--and not one single Republican voted for it.

Therefore--DEMOCRATS own it.

Funny how few people understand the difference between giving people a choice and holding a fucking gun to their head and demanding they do what you want.
