Frankly I wouldn't give them a thin dime. It's not like hurricans are anything new to that area and chosing to live on a friggn sand bar in the atlantic ocean takes a really special kind of an idiot.
It's well past time to get all of the morons out of the taxpayer's pockets. If you want to be stupid, do it on your own damn dime. Same thing goes for idiots in earth quake zones, flood zones etc.

It said they just sent a letter to the president less than a week ago.

It takes the government weeks to get a tax return dealt with, let alone the task of disaster relief.
