Oh goody, tens of thousands in Kentucky to lose their health care. Thanks GOP!

One of the reasons for skyrocketi
Obama care is going to cost way more than they predicted. 2 Trillion according the the CBO

This country is broke and 2 Trillion is one hell of a lot of money for the taxpayers to come up with.

Such a fucking deal the Dems have saddled us with.

The sad thing about Obamacare is that it was never needed.

We sure as hell did not need the stupid government requirements that Obamacare put on all health care polices. For instance, elderly people sure don't need a policy that requires birth control converge.

The requirements that Obamacare imposed on all health care policies reflected a stupid Libtard agenda and had nothing to do with quality health care.

The welfare queens did not need the Obamacare subsidies to get health care. Being without insurance in America did not mean that you didn't get health care. It just meant you had to get it through other programs. Nobody in the US was ever denied health care because of the ability to pay.

What this filthy ass Obamacare does is give the insurance to the welfare queens that the productive people in the US had. It took the welfare queens out of the free clinics and put them in the doctor's office with the paying customers.

It established a stupid entitlement and that was the wrong thing to do. The cost of doing that was enormous. To get the welfare queens the subsidizes the cost for premiums, co payments and deductibles sky rocketed for the paying customers. It was a bad all around.

The idiots that voted for Obama in 2008 and the shithead Democrats that passed the stupid program really screwed this country. That is what happens you allow idiots the right to vote. They screw everything up because of their greed.

The only winners will be those the rest of us subsidize.

My benefit costs went up by 30% this year because of Obamacare.

I have to pay for my benefits and my tax dollars are being used to bankroll every freeloader in America who can't take care of themselves.

Deductables are ridiculous and its going to cost us 2 Trillion dollars.

Every Dem who passed this POS should be shot.

One of the reasons for your costs going up was the stupid inclusion of "pre-existing conditions" which simply means an insurance company now can't adjust premiums based on risk. So they simply jack up everyone those without "pre-existing conditions" to pay for those "WITH" pre-existing.
And when Obama told Americans the following to justify inclusion of "pre-existing...
he lied when he said:
"Up to half of all Americans have a pre-existing condition,"
Half would be 155 million people of the then 310 million.
Another grossly wrong outright lie!
This gave the impression 155 million Americans were not able to get insurance because of "pre-existing conditions"!
THESE FACTS point out the LIE!!!
1) 85% of Americans have coverage... that means 266 million so where in the hell did Obama come up with "half"?
2) Facts: a total of LESS THEN 1.5 million Americans who were denied health insurance or paid higher premiums due to pre-existing conditions.
Obama's Pre-existing Conditions Whopper
Actually what Obama said is correct."Up to half of all Americans have a pre-existing condition," which means one pre-existing condition. Under the point system being used by most insurance companies to determine who get's insured, common health problems such as asthma was good 200 or 300 points. A cancer or a heart attack within 5 years was good for at least 500 points. These two pre-existing conditions meant you would be denied insurance in most states. In some, but not all states you could apply to the high risk pool operated by state. However, most of those policies excluded the pre-existing conditions and cost as well as costing a small fortune. Thus, those that needed healthcare insurance the most were being excluded.

1.5 million Americans being denied insurance is a huge number when you consider that they are very likely to need extensive healthcare.

There are also others problems in using pre-existing conditions to screen customers. When people develop chronic healthcare problems such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, or COPD, they were usually denied insurance. So if you had a heart attack and decided you would retire early, you would likely find yourself uninsurable . Likewise a person with chronic diseases who wanted to start his own business would face the problem of no health insurance available. As a result, millions of people were locked into jobs they hated.

Excluding pre-existing conditions was a tactic of insurance companies to make sure they had only the healthiest customers, fulfilling the prime directive of insurance companies, maximize premiums and minimize claims.

155 million with pre-existing conditions is a HUGE number and was used to SCARE people.
And while he was correct in saying that the purpose was to totally bloat the problem and scare people!
In truth 1.5 million LESS THEN 1.5 million Americans who were denied health insurance or paid higher premiums due to pre-existing conditions.
Obama exaggerations are what he was counting on for people to support ACA...remember he hired Gruber who said ACA depended on the "Stupidity of American
voter" to pass! YOU one of those "stupid" people?

See you also did what Obama did... exaggerate and didn't support with the facts as I've done!
You said "As a result, millions of people were locked into jobs they hated." How do you know? Exactly how many "millions"???
See you just don't obviously understand you can't put subjective statements like that up and then think people will simply believe YOU???

Finally don't take my word!!
FACT CHECK Says Obama is wrong!
Q: Is it true — as the Obama administration claims — that "129 million Americans with a pre-existing condition could be denied coverage without new health reform law"?

A: No. The number who would be truly at risk of losing health insurance or paying more money is much smaller.

This figure comes from an analysis released by the Department of Health and Human Services as House Republicans were preparing a vote to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The administration was making the argument that these millions of Americans would be at risk of losing (or not obtaining, or paying more money for) insurance if the health care law were to be repealed. The headline on the HHS press release said: "129 million Americans with a pre-existing condition could be denied coverage without new health reform law."

Democrats have repeated that assertion. Rep. Nancy Pelosi claims on her website that "Health and Human Services has found up to half of Americans under 65 have preexisting conditions and could lose their health coverage under repeal." But it’s not true that if the law didn’t exist, 129 million persons would all be at risk of losing their insurance, and that becomes clear when reading the full administration report.
Millions with Preexisting Conditions
Apparently you don't understand what the insurance companies considered a preexisting condition. Asthma, allergies, obesity, anemia, diabetes, arthritis, strep throat, Irritable bowel syndrome, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and even 3 common colds a year were preexisting conditions. There were hundreds of preexisting conditions. The insurance company assigned a point value to each condition. In my state, over 700 points and you get no insurance. Asthma was 200 points. Type 2 diabetes was 300 points, Cancer, heart attack, or stroke within the last 5 years and you don't get insurance. So yes, Obama was absolutely correct. About half the people in the US had a preexisting condition.

Most employer's group insurance did not consider pre-existing condition. However, small employer plans and individual plans were subject to pre-existing conditions.

The tide has turned irreversibly against the anti-ACA crowd. The far righties now wants to make it "better" and cheaper, just like they wanted to with FDR's social security.
I don't think so. According to the latest Gallup poll on the subject of healthcare, 48% said they general disapprove of the ACA, 47% said they approve and 5% had no opinion. Approval has risen 7 points in a year. In other words the country is evenly divided now over Obamacare.

It's really silly debating whether the ACA should exist or not because that was settled 5 years ago. Repealing the law would be virtually impossible even if Republicans controlled the government. They would have to come up with a system that lowered healthcare cost for median income workers while maintaining coverage for those with low income. That would require even larger government expenditures on healthcare and Republicans aren't about to do that.

There are certainly changes we could make to the law that would make insurance and healthcare cheaper and still maintain coverage. However, that's not going to happen. Democrats won't touch the law and Republicans aren't going to do anything other than exploit the shortcomings in campaigning.

Lexington, KY local and state news by the Lexington Herald-Leader | Kentucky.com

The number of uninsured Kentuckians dropped from 14.3 percent in 2013 to 8.5 percent in 2014, according to census data released last month. That's the biggest drop in the rate of uninsured for any state. Meanwhile, Kentucky's health insurance market for individuals and small businesses is its most robust in years.

Election Day: Bevin wins in Kentucky, Ohio rejects pot - CNNPolitics.com

The wealthy businessman has pledged to shutdown the state's healthcare exchange and he's also expressed concerns about the expansion of Medicaid in Kentucky under the Affordable Care Act.

That's what I like to see. The GOP leadership screwing over their base. And just in time for the presidential elections. Thanks GOP! See ya in 2016!
Stupid is as stupid votes, you pulled the lever for Hope and Change, the fundamental transformation of America, the lower'er of oceans and healer of the planet, and he and Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid , behind closed doors, have now taken away the RIGHT of people to choose whether to have healthcare or not. So with Obummer care collapsing all around(the plan of the liberals all along) dupshits like you just go and blame the GOP, who did nothing to stop the trainwreck, and did nothing to stop Obama from fulfilling his dream of control. Jonathan Gruber is correct for what he called you liberals. Obfuscatedcare
Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber said Obamacare only passed due to the "stupidity" of the LIBERAL American voter and a lack of "transparency," and video footage of his remarks was deleted from the Internet in an attempt to hide it.
A box of rocks is smarter than a liberal.

You have no idea what insurance is, do you?

It is not a welfare program. It is a pool where you pay in at certain rate when you don't need the benefits and you get reimbursements when you do need it.

Insurance rates are based upon there being a balance between what comes in and what goes out.

When you allow people that never paid into the system to come into the program with an expensive pre existing condition then somebody else has to pay for it and that is not right.

The government mandate to require per-existing conditions in all insurance policies is one of the main reasons why the cost of insurance has sky rocketed under Obamacare. After all, their ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

This idea of pre existing conditions crap encourages shitheads to not not pay into insurance pools when they are healthy and then when they do get sick run and sign up somebody else to pay their bills get somebody else to pay their bills.

I would be in favor of insurance companies allowing transfer of pre existing conditions between different companies if somebody wants to change policies but to require the companies to have to accept pre existing conditions is the wrong thing to do.

This idea that your are entitled to have somebody else pay your bills simply because you are alive is bullshit.

By the way, Obama never got anything right in life.

The whole point behind the mandate that you must have insurance is so that everyone is included in the pool and that someone can't just get insurance when they get sick. Secondly, insurance companies have a bad track record of forcing sick people out of their insurance if they believe they were becoming too expensive. This actually happened to me as I had insurance for my entire life, but when I moved to another state I was denied insurance due to my pre-existing condition, which btw was no fault of my own as it was genetic.

The whole idea of the mandate was to force people to provide the funding for the filthy subsidies to the welfare queens that are too sorry to pay their own bills.

If you don't like the insurance policy that you had (pre Obamacare) then you always had the option of switching to another. We absolutely don't need the government telling the insurance companies how to run their business.

The Left is bad about putting out false info about the insurance. For instance, a good portion of employer provided health insurance payouts were funded by the companies. All the insurance companies do was to administer the program and pass the cost onto the employer. That is why pre existing conditions are usually covered in employer provided insurance.

Your pre existing problems are your concern, not mine. You should have no right to cause my insurance cost to be elevated to fix your problems. You are not entitled to health care simply because you are alive.

The lowest cost and the best health care will always come from a free market with minimal government interference. All government interference does is elevate cost and reduce quality, just like in every other commodity.

The government is never our friend. It is usually our enemy.

So we have no choice is YOUR point.
The government once again knows what is best for ALL of us because of ONE person...i.e. you!
Just because you had a problem doesn't mean I have to pay for your problem.
Again... YOU fell into that category of the 1.5 million Americans who were denied health insurance or paid higher premiums due to pre-existing conditions.NOT 155 million that Obama exaggerated about.
Note the statement also said: or paid higher premiums. OK that makes Obama and your personalized subjective comments even more egregious.
A) That reduced the number that were DENIED because the implication by Obama was half of all Americans were denied health insurance.

B) Finally health insurers don't make money by denying applicants. Instead, they may offer what is known as a condition-specific deductible, or CSD, that can provide the health care coverage you need at a price you can afford.

A CSD is an annual deduction that is completely separate from your medical and/or prescription drug deductible and applies only to treatment and medication for a single health condition. Once you reach your condition-specific deductible, your health insurance plan will typically pay covered expenses related to that condition at 100 percent for the rest of the year.Health Insurance For Pre-Existing Condition? | Bankrate.com

Again the idiocy of covering EVERY condition that people like you must think happens to everyone is shown by people like your response!
YOU and the less then 1.5 million were the EXCEPTIONS... NOT the RULE!
Please don't take personal subjective experiences and make THAT the rule!

The number one reason health insurance rates continually climb is non-Federally contracted doctors practice at the cost to insurance companies and people that
pay $850 billion a year all because they fear lawsuits DEFENSIVE MEDICINE!!!
Do you understand that if you should be angry at lawyers for causing this $850 billion wasted expenses that insurance companies pass on in INCREASING premiums.

Please recognize that half of all Federal-contracted doctors don't spend VA money etc, on wasted tests because they can't be sued!

One of the reasons for skyrocketi

AND YOU missed my point entirely!!!
Did I not say he was correct?????

This is what I wrote!
"155 million with pre-existing conditions is a HUGE number and was used to SCARE people.

Your insurance costs should go up to provide coverage for people with preexisting conditions because the purpose of insurance is cover both those with little risk of illness as well as those with high risk of illness. Preexisting conditions was just a tactic of insurance companies to reduce claims and increase their profits.

There is an elegant and simple solution. Eliminate the insurance companies, Obamacare, Medicaid, Cobra, Employee sponsored insurance, 5 other federal healthcare programs, and over 75 state programs and replace them all with Medicare. You eliminate insurance company profits and processing cost which is higher than Medicare, replace a number of costly high overhead government programs, and eliminate employer healthcare cost which will reduce business overall expenses 6% to 15%. The public gets insurance that is better than the average health insurance plan being offered today. Doctors and hospitals can eliminate a large percent of their claims processing since they won't be dealing with a hundred difference insurance companies.

That's really not the purpose of insurance. That's the key misconception (and I'd argue that it's a deliberate misconception) at the heart of PPACA. The purpose of insurance is to provide a hedge against risk. The idea that insurance should, or can, function as general purpose, pre-paid healthcare is irrational. Asking health insurance companies to "cover" people who are already sick is exactly as like asking automobile insurance companies to cover cars after they've been wrecked. This is a very basic concept of insurance and no amount of wishful delusion can change that.

That's one solution. I happen to think a free market would provide and even more "elegant and simple solution". But both our 'druthers' are irrelevant when it comes to ACA. It's neither simple, nor elegant, and combines the worst aspects of government interference and corporate greed.

Except that it is better than what we had. We need to make it much better.

That's your opinion. I see it as much, much worse. It takes us not a step, but a giant leap, away from either of the solutions offered by Flopper or myself. It cements in place the corporatism that you so adore, and sets up insurance companies as defacto branches of government. It creates a gigantic government bureaucracy that will be nearly impossible to remove, or improve. It's adamantly NOT an inroad to single payer. It's specifically designed to thwart single-payer. And it's not a 'market-friendly' approach, as it's also designed to remove the freedom of consumers. It indulges the worst impulses of regulatory democracy and corporate capitalism.

Nope, it is a step away from unregulated corporatism, thank heavens. You missed I said that we "need to make it much better." We can do that more easily now, and it will not be what the far left wants..

I didn't miss your comment about making it better. But making something better implies it has some existing value. ACA has none. It's a barricade against improvement and must be removed before positive change can occur.

AND YOU missed my point entirely!!!
Did I not say he was correct?????

This is what I wrote!
"155 million with pre-existing conditions is a HUGE number and was used to SCARE people.
And while he was correct in saying that the purpose was to totally bloat the problem and scare people!

NO his purpose in making that statement was to SCARE people! Thinking half all americans couldn't get insurance!
He had to use tricks tactics and as he said through his hired hand...he counted on the "Stupidity of the American Voter"!!!
When people heard that statement they had the impression WE NEED to have Obamacare because 155 million Americans
can't get insurance because of "pre-existing conditions"!

NOW with companies not able to do actuarial calculations, i.e. ASSIGN RISKS... they did the only logical thing!
RAISE the rates on EVERYONE because YOU don't know who will be filing claims!
Total excuse to raise the premiums!
You do know that insurance works by spreading the risk for everybody.

I know MORE about insurance then you could learn in a lifetime.
I also know that actuaries (a term you obviously have NO knowledge of who or what they do) determine WHAT the payments will be to cover the risks of
the insured. Actuaries determine the risks based on history of the claims paid out and the risks of paying out for the insured.
Spreading the "risk" is ONLY done after determining "WHAT THE RISK" will be.
A single payer does not provide insurance.
A single payer simple pays expenses for everyone.
There is NO such thing then as "spreading the risk" with a single payer system as there is no such thing as INSURANCE!
Of course there is, you moron. It means everybody is in the system, and the providers have to bid. You morons are not going to be allowed to socialize the risk and privatize the profit in the future. You are going to have to be in the game all the way.

Providers have to bid??? Who are the providers? Providers of what?
In my business providers are the people that perform health services. Every day the providers we serve send over 10,000 inquiries to find out if their patients
are eligible for Medicare...i.e. providers.
So again... I'm asking you who do you consider providers?
Your answer will clearly show your level of ignorance.
