Oh No the economy is growing, hurry cons make a mess of something to stop it

why do you wish for failure in the American economy in the face of good economic numbers?

why dont you go down to the unemployment office and tell all of those folks on line the good news...

"11 months ago, they said there would be an increase in hiring in May of 2011!"

Lets see how they react....

Get back to us on that one.

I'd be curious to know how much of the "drop" in unemployment numbers is simply people who have been unemployed for so long without being able to find work that they have finally just given up trying? I know we've had the largest percentage of long time unemployed ever, for over a year now. The number we get for unemployed and the REAL number aren't even close at this point.

there are many that lost their unemployment benefits that are no longer deemed unemployed in the numbers...even though they are desperately seeking employment.

The UE is a joke... UE went down with only 80k jobs created, leaving everyone going "How was that possible?" Wait, no TM still just takes the Governments word for it.

This should be interesting.....Give your source for that information. A .gov or .edu site would be preferred.

See the thing is that you have no source. You just believe it to be true, even though it's completely false.

Actually the only people asking how that's possible are those who don't understand the data.

The "80k jobs created" (which I'm betting will be revised upward) comes from a survey of non-agricultural businesses that contribute to Unemployment Insurance.
The UE rate comes from a household survey that measures total employment. And that showed an increase of 277,000 employed and a decrease of 95,000 Unemployed. So that's how the rate went down...the 80K has nothing to do with it...wrong survey, wrong sample, measures the wrong thing.

For the Sept to October drop? None. The population increased by 198,000, Employment increased by 277,000, Unemployment decreased by 95,000 and Not in the Labor Force (people not working or trying to work) increased 17,000
The number of Discouraged workers (had been looking but no longer looking because they don't think they'll find work) dropped by 70,000.

Why do you think most conservatives wish for economic failure? Do you really think that some lib/dems don't wish for failure of repub policies when they're in power? How much did you hope Bush43 failed when he was in office?

you need a link to know that in a 3 year recession, those with only 2 years of unemployment benefits wind up not collecting unemployment benefiots after 2 years?

Are you not aware that unemployment numbers are based on unempoloyment claims?

Nope, not aware of that (because it's not true). Cite your (non-existent) source that they are. I'm honestly curious where you got that idea.
Why don't you start with the folks who publish the numbers: Employment Situation Technical Note
Paragraph 6 I think tou'll find interesting.

U.S. Economy Growing at Fastest Pace of the Year - Bloomberg

The U.S. economy may end 2011 growing at its fastest clip in 18 months as analysts increase their forecasts for the fourth quarter just a few months after a slowdown raised concern among investors.

Economists at JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) in New York now see gross domestic product rising 3 percent in the final quarter, up from a previous prediction of 2.5 percent. Macroeconomic Advisers in St. Louis increased its forecast to 3.2 percent from 2.9 percent at the start of November, while New York-based Morgan Stanley & Co. boosted its outlook to 3.5 percent from 3 percent.

“The incoming data on consumption, business spending and residential investment all point to GDP growth in the fourth quarter tracking 3.3 percent,” said John Herrmann, senior fixed-income strategist at State Street Global Markets in Boston.

Sad, sad little gullible leftist. Always looking for the gold ring at the bottom of the porta-john holding tank.

Gee, why don't we support the economic policies of Jon "I bankrupted a brokerage house and a State and stole $600MM" Corzine?

Yes, it's becoming more obvious 0bama is a one term president. Things are looking up.

The stated goal of the GOP is to oust Obama. Screw the Country, screw the Economy. They will dig in their heels and stop any efforts that might create jobs.

The Republicans just lost the election.

They will certainly do that. The Cons care nothing for the citizens of this nation. All they know is getting their way, and aiding the very wealthy. They will destroy the recovery just to attempt to destroy this Presidency.

It is time for every citizen of good conscience to get out and vote in a government that cares for the citizens of this nation.

and so i suppose you would tell me to vote Democrat ...Right?.....people like Dean and Chris?......no thanks.....ill stick with 3rd Parties....

They will do whatever they can to prevent this country from thriving.

How very sick in the morals department the right has become.

When I was a kid there were decent honest republicans in the world who fought to make us great.

They kicked the asses of the corrupt democratic party of the day.

Now they are reduced to this.

so the Pendulum has swung the other way.....in the early nineties it was the other way.....in a few years it will swing back to the other side.....vote 3rd Party....get some people in who actually might give a dam about the Country....
