ok is trying to alienate teachers?

Parents need to take control of their local school boards and kick the liberal out

then install cameras on the classrooms and go after the liberal teachers how are pushing the hate-America agenda
Then

Mac still with the camera obsession

i wonder what teachers would stay under this policy?

As it is we have a blistering teacher shortage that is only getting worse. It was bad before the pandemic. Now it's just something like I never imagined.

I work in a good district. Say, long about 15 years ago, we had hundreds--no exaggeration--of applications for a single elementary grade level teaching position. It was ridiculous. Now, it's a bidding war. Even before the pandemic, young people were not going into it. Now? Tumbleweeds everywhere.

My fellow conservatives who bash ALL teachers have no idea what they're bringing on. Yes, some of it is deserved. But in 10 years when the teachers we do have are even worse, because they basically must hire high school drop outs to do it, don't say we didn't warn you.

And don't even get me started on Special Ed. Just....don't.

The proposed act, named the “Students’ Religious Belief Protection Act” mean parents can demand the removal of any book with perceived anti-religious content from school. Subjects like LGBTQ issues, evolution, the big bang theory and even birth control could be off the table.

Teachers could be sued a minimum of $10,000 “per incident, per individual” and the fines would be paid “from personal resources” not from school funds or from individuals or groups. If the teacher is unable to pay, they will be fired, under the legislation.

i simply cannot believe the absolute stupidity of trying to fine teachers...in the age of everyone is offended by something

Oklahoma bill would fine teachers $10k for teaching anything that contradicts religion

Under Senator Rob Standridge’s Students’ Religious Belief Protection Act subjects like LGBT issues, evolution and the big bang theory, even birth control could be off the table

". . .The act will be introduced into the Education Committee next week, but it doesn’t specify which religious beliefs will be used to prosecute offending teachers.

Referring to the act as “necessary for the preservation of the public peace,” if passed the law will take effect immediately, states the bill.

Just over a month ago, Senator Standridge introduced a bill to ban books with references to identity, sex and gender from public school libraries.. . "

Obviously, it is a dumb idea, and I would be shocked if the bill even gets out of committee, but it is pretty obvious what this move is all about. . .

The left has over played their hand in trying to reform education in trying to deal with societal implicit bias in the work place, in government, school and all other places in society. The best places to program that out of a person is when folks are young. . . but how young? And the question remains, how much of the morals and ethics of the STATE versus the family, do social engineers get to press onto the children? What say do parents have?

Obviously, families have been left out of the equation when the Left, in their ivory towers, have re-engineer the pedagogy. SO? Whenever the political radicals in society make moves, you can always expect, like weeds after a good rain, the reactionaries are going to capitalize on those shifts in the establishment government and workplace.

This. . . . Oklahoma Senator, I honestly don't think believes a lot of these proposals will even get anywhere. Hell, I was in student government, model UN, etc. A lot of times, it was the most outlandish proposals that got the most interest, but then were jaw-boned down into something realistic for what folks expected of change.

BUT? The upshot, the REAL change, was the person that proposed them. . . they were the folks that got the limelight. That is what we should pay attention to. It is this guy, this Senator Standridge that is probably the story. The proposal? That is just for clicks and ad revenue, it is outrage porn, and won't, in all likelihood go anywhere. It is only to get his name out there for the future.

As soon as he appears in articles with say. . . Ronna McDaniel? Then you will know what this is about. . . . IMO.

The schools are still screwed up

My fellow conservatives are going to do to schools what Leftists did to the criminal court system and law enforcement with "Defund the police"

Are you proud of that, Mac?

Quite frankly you're a ridiculous poster. You never make a point. You just make pronouncements.
You got that right. Jones is a slogan spouter, an empty suit, a pseudo-intellectual, full of high sentence but a bit obtuse, but mostly he's a two-bit-punk statist bootlick sans a lick of empathy.

Lefty regards the public education system as his domain by divine right. He opposes the educational liberty of school choice, incessantly imposes the vile, oppressive degeneracy of cultural Marxism, and cynically characterizes resistence as censorship.

Fine.

I say burn it all down.

The only thing leftists will ever understand about the rights of others is the business end of a loaded gun pointed at their stupid heads.

The schools should belong to the community that sends the children to the schools. The local community. This is what being a conservative is all about. We are not anti-gov, but we believe gov is best managed and overseen when you can walk down the street and look eyeball to eyeball at your gov officials.

Libs have an iron grip on education

and its obvious that the lib schools are not going to reform themselves

Sweeping, very generalized statements like this are frankly lazy. They lead to disasters like "defund the police". You're doing the same to education. While you seek to burn down the enclaves in say, Brooklyn and Berkeley, you're also setting fire to small town elementary schools in Oklahoma that can't get actual teachers, let alone subs. And here you are, wanting to put a live camera feed on teachers making beans just out of college--the very few teachers we can actually get in the profession, which diminishes every year. A million times worse, live camera feeds on SIX year olds. I can't argue with you on this anymore; it's patently insane and rife for being abused by pedophiles. But whatever. You're just as crazy-eyed as the people on the Left salivating about defunding the police. Burn it all down. Count the cost later.

We live in one of the most insane, stupid eras in history. And that's saying a mouthful.

one advantage of living in a white zone.....our schools are still strong...the basic elementary schools are low student to teacher ratios..etc...high school sucks in this county

According to the bill.... if they offer an opposing view to the religious beliefs held by students.

So, if a teacher who is a Southern Baptist says the Pope is not an infallible representative of God, they can be sued. If a teacher who is a Catholic says that Sunday is the day of Worship then they can be sued by a 7th Day Adventist. And the Mormon kids parents can pretty much sue every teacher

I can't believe any parent would put their kids through the cruelty of public schools

I'd work 4 jobs to save kids from that cancer education

When a Baltimore student with a 0.1 GPA and is in the top half, you know I am right

Public schools are about as bad as electrical cord beating wounds hidden on a child. in fact I would prefer that than going to these awful awful places

Just like everything in life, there are good public schools and bad public schools. That you lump them all together shows you went to one of the bad ones

Things go south people are quick to point out teachers. Societies ills all fall on them. Meanwhile, the kids have zero responsibility. Same for parents. It's all on the schools.

3% of an entire district is proficient in anything is all that needs to be said

I never went to one of those places thankfully

I loved what I did and still do some so much I never worked a day in my life. Called all the shots too

So I digress

I am not sure what place you went to, but they did a worse job than the district you speak of. There are more than 13,000 public school districts in the US, but you judge them all by one single one of them.

I am sure it gave you good sense of power to call the shots of when to drop the fries at Wendy's.
