On this 4th of July........Don’t forget to thank a Liberal

Our founding fathers were the most liberal thinkers of their era

Imagine believing that all men were created equal, that royalty were no better than anyone else, that common people should vote

Conservatives supported the King ....that is where the power was

Our liberal founding fathers risked all to create a new nation

The same ones that outlawed income tax?

Call 'em whatever the hell you want, can we embrace that liberal idea?
Income tax funds our government

The founders gave Congress that responsibility

The founders specifically outlawed income tax and we thrived as a country without it...for more years than we've had an income tax.

Theft is your thing, we get it.

You're trying to sell balls as kidneys and say that you're just as our FFs were.

Your type of liberals are Lenin, Stalin, Marx, Mao, Castro, Chavez...
Nobody is like our founding fathers
They lived in a different era
/-----/"Nobody is like our founding fathers They lived in a different era"
And yet you started the thread and your first sentence was "Our founding fathers were the most liberal thinkers of their era" So what was your point? Why are we thanking them?

Our founders were some of the greatest liberal minds in history. That is why we celebrate them

But their liberalism was through the eyes of 18 th century aristocrats. They could not envision a society 250 years later. Doesn’t mean you don’t celebrate what they accomplished
/----/ So why do you say thank a Liberal if by today's standards they are conservatives? Makes no sense unless you got caught in your own spin.

Recent examples prove otherwise.

Hardly

Violence on college campuses to prevent people from simply speaking, hounding administration officials in public because of differences in policy. I could go on, but that's not promoting freedom, it's quite the opposite.

.
Constitution provides a right to protest

Address grievances to the government, yes, harass, riot and threaten other citizens, NO!

.
Those who break the law get arrested

See how easy it is?
/----/ Except for the Clintons.

If these men were around today, they would be called Deplorable Racist Homophobes.

They weren't "liberal" at all, not in the modern sense of the word.

In actuality, they were to the right of Rush.

You seem to define liberal as a single mindset that remains static through time
/----/ And you seem to define conservative as a single mindset that remains static through time.

Statement is true, but not relevant to today's America. The Founding Fathers are mocked and hated by you lefties.....old white men slave owners....is all you think when talking of them......so sad.

/——/ Our Founding Fathers believed marriage was between a man and woman. Liberals, not so much.
They believed women shouldn't vote nor hold office.

Correct.

Wyoming started allowing them to vote long before the 19th was ratified.

What a freaking left wing place that was.

The definition of a liberal is pretty static. Just like the description of Magnesium on the periodic chart.

Income tax funds our government

The founders gave Congress that responsibility

The founders specifically outlawed income tax and we thrived as a country without it...for more years than we've had an income tax.

Theft is your thing, we get it.
Different world.....different economy

A paycheck was not common in the 1700s

You do realize they had to pass a constitutional amendment to allow the income tax?

Very true

The definition of a liberal remains the same. The liberal issues of an era keeps changing

The only reason why the Income Tax was ratified was Prohibition.

Before 1913, taxes on booze were the largest source of revenue for the feds.

Outlawing booze dried up that source.

But after the 21st was passed guaranteeing the right to drink, they continued on with income tax

"Yet now you commiecrats are demanding Christian values to be substituted for our secular law enforcement decisions. Hypocrites much? .
That is the remark of cultural fascism, typically a falsehood that makes no sense. There are no commies in Americ. If there were they would not substitute any religous values "for our secular law enforcement decisions."

Real Christians would want our law enforcement motivated by spiritual and ethical values, though.

So you now want feel good law enforcement instead of equal justice under the law? Can't be having criminals inconvenienced, right? Amazingly I don't find this surprising at all. It's a hallmark for you commies, everything is situational, as in what would benefit you the best, the hell with the country.

Commies is being kind, you wouldn't want to hear the real terms used for you folks, we know how fragile you can be.

In 2018, five countries remain under communist rule: China, Cuba, Laos, Vietnam and North Korea.

And never forget that Tom Jefferson was a Fundamentalist- someone who not only refused to commission Transexual officers into the Army or even permit Gay Marriage in the Virginia Commonwealth as governor.
Jefferson was a Unitarian who denied the Holy Trinity. He rewrote the New Testament, omitting the miracles.

And now you regressive cry about the results of the 16th, blue States pay more than red States. How many times have we heard that on this very board?
