Blacks and Hispanics more optimistic than whites about economic future
A recent survey conducted by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research showed that attitudes about economic opportunity are diverging along racial lines, the AP says.
In the survey, less than half of white Americans -- 46 percent -- said their family had a good chance at improving their living standard given the way things are in America. In contrast, 71 percent of black respondents, and 73 percent of Hispanic respondents, said they thought their living standard would improve.
