Only 52% of Meteorologists/Atmospheric Experts Believe in AGW

Appeal to authority is a logical fallacy, Dullard.

Swing and a miss!

When presented with overwhelming international support for Global warming as being verifiable and real, what do you do?.................Punt! Good sheep.

I'll quote something I recently heard that I feel is fitting here - "Stay out of topics you dont understand or remain quiet and learn."

Appeal to authority is a logical fallacy. using the science available, the AGW crowd is the one who has been swinging and missing.

The models are wrong. Projections are wrong. And there is plenty of serious question remaining about climate change. Even the IPCC admits they were wrong on the models.

I dont give a fuck how many flat earth people you can crowd into a room. Appeal to authority and consensus do not give a scientific theory merit.

LOL, says who? You? You're a chump with a big mouth and NOTHING to back up any of the shit you spew. Take your own advice and shut up and try and learn something for once in your life.

Prove me wrong though, post your sources of scientific merit that you deem worthy and disprove the 200+ international agencies who actually know what the fuck they're talking about, unlike you.

Until then, you'll continue to be the bitch and corporate shill that you are.

They are asking vague questions that don't get to the ROOT of the problem.. See the study link Below...

Is global warming caused PARTLY by man? Honest skeptics would answer yes..

Is it half & half? ---- that's childish to pick an even split on the evidence. But most skeptics would answer no.

Do we know enough to say HOW MUCH is attributed by man? Technically, we skeptics do and it's insignificant and not a crisis. CO2 by its LONESOME --- on a doubling from 250ppm to 500ppm (which we haven't reached yet) would cause about 1.2degC warming. Physics says so.. (in reality most skeptics believe the ACTUAL effect would be LESS than that because of water vapor and other variables)

BUT THAT'S NOT what the skeptics are skeptical about. WE see the AGW assertions as HUGE exaggerations of what this "trigger" will produce. The NUTS of AGW is those castastrophic multipliers that get pulled out of arses.. Giving them 4 or 8degC warming predictions without outstanding the inner workings of MOST of the Earth's climate.

THus the poll questions miss the point COMPLETELY.. It's not about the warming that WE'VE SEEN and MEASURED --- It's about the PREDICTIONS OF DOOM that come in the future..

You can find the questions and results HERE ---- for as little as that is worth..

An Error Occurred Setting Your User Cookie

Just like you shouldn't pick up a gun for which you don't know how to make it safe --- You really shouldn't be picking up polls as weapons unless they are first assessed to be valid..

FUNNY DEAL IS --- Forbes has an article today about how the GeorgeTown pollster didn't like the answers from the AMS --- so he's KNOCKING these guys as just weather jocks who don't UNDERSTAND climate science...

Boo-freaking-Hoo.. A hissy fit when the science doesn't match your thesis..

They wont believe it until the US looks like Shanghi.

Takeastep negged me for these pics with the word "moron".

Another deep thought and well reasoned response

Sounds like he did the right thing since your out of context pictures do not prove any point other than you are a hack.

"Waaaah, someone asked for evidence of the shit I claim, since I can't do that I need to send neg-rep instead."

There's a lot of financial stakes tied to both sides of the warming argument and I'm riding the fence on Global Warming. Maybe one of these days something very conclusive will emerge from one side or the other?
Skeptics do not have to prove a negative. It is the AGW crowd that needs to prove their case. And so far, they have not done so. Not even a little.

LOL, you know something that ALL of these organizations don't know?

How many of the MEMBERS of these Orgs hold ANY skeptical thoughts?
Did they say HOW much of the 0.6degC change in Global Temps during your lifetime was a result of combusting fossil fuel?

Do they believe that the temperatures during mankind's existence on the planet have NEVER BEEN this high before?

I'll wait while you get them to CLARIFY their worthless press releases..

I dont know about that. Are you familiar with ethanol? It's a pretty terrible "renewable" policy. There are major impacts to the environment. Solar panel creation - you ever seen what comes out of that?

Yeah, I'm fairly aware of ethanol's impact. It's production raised food prices and farmers have converted prairies and wetlands to cornfields. As a hunter I don't like that either. Plus prairies and wetlands are both important to our Eco-system.
Solar panels aren't perfect either, both in the manufacturing stage and the usage stage. But their effect on the environment still isn't as great as fossil fuels based on objective studies.

'fraid you can't dismiss all KNOWLEDGEABLE folks as corporate shills.. That's not gonna fly.. In this VERY FORUM --- we've posted DOZENS of threads showing the piss poor performance of the models predicting DOOM and the IPCC backtracks..

NONEONE wants to summarize War and Peace for you here. If you TRULY BELIEVE that folks are STILL predicting 8 and 10degC rises by 2100.. Or even the 4 and 6degC rises that past models puked out --- you're about 5 years behind on Climate Science news..

:eusa_angel:

Attention everyone. Flacaltenn has declared their statements worthless! From this moment forward please disregard all of the statements on global warming made by these agencies as per direction of the all-knowing Flacaltenn.

It's funny how many climate experts we have who visit this site. We are so lucky to have such brilliant minds among us.

Says the IPCC, you numbskull.

Link? of course not. That would actually help support your made up fantasy.

Use google. There are dozens of news articles related to the IPCC admission on wrong models. If you're really good at searching, you may actually find the paper.

Ie. You have no proof.

Too bad you can't neg me again for asking you to support your own claims. Novel concept, I know.

Jeebus, you're one dumb fuckin' troll, fella. Here you go, I'll serve it right up for you.

https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar5/wg1/

Nothing in the information contained at that IPCC site supports your fallacious claims about it, you mouth breathing moron.

Here is some of the actual information contained at that site.

Headline Statements from the Summary for Policymakers

Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and since the 1950s, many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia. The atmosphere and ocean have warmed, the amounts of snow and ice have diminished, sea level has risen, and the concentrations of greenhouse gases have increased.

Each of the last three decades has been successively warmer at the Earth’s surface than any preceding decade since 1850. In the Northern Hemisphere, 1983–2012 was likely the warmest 30-year period of the last 1400 years.

Ocean warming dominates the increase in energy stored in the climate system, accounting for more than 90% of the energy accumulated between 1971 and 2010 (high confidence). It is virtually certain that the upper ocean (0−700 m) warmed from 1971 to 2010, and it likely warmed between the 1870s and 1971.

Over the last two decades, the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets have been losing mass, glaciers have continued to shrink almost worldwide, and Arctic sea ice and Northern Hemisphere spring snow cover have continued to decrease in extent (high confidence).

The rate of sea level rise since the mid-19th century has been larger than the mean rate during the previous two millennia (high confidence). Over the period 1901–2010, global mean sea level rose by 0.19 [0.17 to 0.21] m.

The atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane, and nitrous oxide have increased to levels unprecedented in at least the last 800,000 years. CO2 concentrations have increased by 40% since pre-industrial times, primarily from fossil fuel emissions and secondarily from net land use change emissions. The ocean has absorbed about 30% of the emitted anthropogenic carbon dioxide, causing ocean acidification.

Total radiative forcing is positive, and has led to an uptake of energy by the climate system. The largest contribution to total radiative forcing is caused by the increase in the atmospheric concentration of CO2 since 1750.

Human influence on the climate system is clear. This is evident from the increasing greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere, positive radiative forcing, observed warming, and understanding of the climate system.

Climate models have improved since the AR4. Models reproduce observed continental-scale surface temperature patterns and trends over many decades, including the more rapid warming since the mid-20th century and the cooling immediately following large volcanic eruptions (very high confidence).

Observational and model studies of temperature change, climate feedbacks and changes in the Earth’s energy budget together provide confidence in the magnitude of global warming in response to past and future forcing.
