The city operates its own government pursuant to the Home Rule Act of 1973, dumbass.

They are PAID by FEDERAL funds thus federal employees.

The Federal Government is the largest employer in the US. That is not even close to being right.

The United States Federal Government is the largest employer in the world.

Probably even before contract labor is added in.

Of course, sans the military budget The USA is only among the largest, but ad in military personnel and all the contract labor needed to support them and congress most certainly controls the biggest payroll on the planet.

The Government is supposed to provide for the common defense.

Yes, but that wasn't the point. You complain that the federal government is the largest employer in the country. But the overwhelming portion of them are DOD employees.

Do your complaints have a purpose bigger than whining like my daughter at bedtime? If so, then let's try this on for size. If you feel that the federal government employs too many people why don't you start by giving us a breakdown of those employees, explain how many of what areas should be cut, and why you feel that those cuts can be made without compromising the federal government's ability to fulfill its responsibilities.
