DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — If the Republican Party is on the verge of an implosion, Sarah Palin may have been the one who lit the fuse.

Palin's complicated relationship with GOP leaders over the past eight years is a microcosm of the party's broader struggles with its most restive members. What started with an embrace by party leaders evolved into wary tolerance, followed by a potentially irreparable split.

So it's perhaps little surprise that Palin is re-emerging on the national political scene at this moment of reckoning for Republicans.

Time to sit back and munch on the popcorn as the jester courts the clown.

well----the energy for the implosion has been building up for more than a year----
but the PALIN input is CERTIANLY an aggravating factor

Is that the same as a "progressive" and "Socialist Democrat"?

Silly far left drones actually believe they get choices in their nominations..

The republicans set the stage for this all the way back in 2012 when they lost, had their "autopsy" and even in spite of the things they found out, continued to go even further down the road they had started on.

Trump saw the stage was set, and promptly put himself in the middle of it, knowing that he could spew the kind of vitriol that the republicans were now responding to.

Palin shows up and lights the fuse happily, knowing now that the bumper sticker rhetoric that she wanted to use back in 2008 (but McCain wouldn't let her) would now be welcomed by the far right wing which seems to have taken over the GOP.

Yep, you Republicans built it, now live with what you have wrought.

The establishment is about to get the shit kicking of its life. In the words of a famous conservative I BETTCHA the inside the beltway rinos were running for extra strength immodium AD.

I love love love it!

Psssst her power within conservative circles has never diminished. Only grown.

She's helped more than a few conservatives win their races. Like this guy.

Sarah Palin is getting back on the campaign trail. She'll hit the road this Friday at an evening rally for Ted Cruz, Texas candidate for the U.S. Senate, at the Woodlands, north of Houston, his campaign and a Palin friend confirmed for ABC News.
Palin appeared at an Americans for Prosperity rally earlier this month in Michigan, but she hasn't been out and about recently in support of candidates she has backed. During the 2010 midterms, she went on tour with the Tea Party Express, making stops throughout the country on behalf of Tea Party candidates.

Sorry, but people are going to hear all this bumpersticker rhetoric, and be turned off.

Sarah is glad that all the crap she wanted to say back in 2008 (but couldn't because of McCain) is now allowed.

BTW, I wonder if The Wasilla Chihuahua turned Momma Gerbil has managed to read any magazines yet?

thanks dancer-----my take is that IN SUM-----Palin's endorsement will neither help
nor hurt DONALD-------the positive and the negative will BALANCE OUT

Let's hope the GOP blows up, for good of the country...

Me too. GO TRUMP......the best gift Hillary could ever receive.

Most Cruz supporters love Palin. Her endorsing Trump will sway many of them to trump. This is only important in the primaries. The crazies supporting one or the other republican won't effect the general election.

My take is this.......Trump is using Palin to cement a win in Iowa among the bible-thumpers (his ego can't even take a loss in a caucus)......Trump's win in Iowa and surely NH will knock Cruz to 3rd or 4th place in future primaries.....

Rest assured that AFTER Iowa, Trump will drop the shrilly Palin, realizing that she is no bridge to moderate conservatives, but a weighty albatross.
