Paul McCartney, "Queenie Eye" - love it!!

What made The Beatles especially entertaining for me was that both McCartney and Lennon were prolific and true to thier own styles. The blending of those musical talents made for a wide range and diversity of music...there was usually something for everyone in thier early albums.

Lennon was the "edgy" one in most of the Beatles music but McCartney also offered more than just sappy love songs...

examples.. Back in the USSR...Helter Skelter... Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.

As I stated earlier...not a McCartney fan. And this is where I will probably get in trouble, but I couldn't stand his first wife, Linda. Blech.

The Beatles, McCartney and Lennon, being English had thier take on American music which shaped much of thier early song writing and expectations of what could be popular in thier musical futures.

McCartney stated that in his earliest attempts at writing he envisioned himself writing songs for of all people Frank Sinatra. Believe it or not one of his earlier songs was an effort for Old Blue Eyes.. called "When I'm 64". Strange. Englishmen are goofy. Now much of what the duo did put to music WAS in fact IMHO music that could have been sung by Bobby Vinton, Elvis and Ricky Nelson... Songs like "I will"... and "If I fell"

I may not be a Paul McCartney fan, but I've always loved Paul & Linda's love story...

even more so after having watched Paul go through the ringer, losing Linda in such a tragic and untimely manner, and then hooking up with golddigger what's-her-name...
