Consumerism can be downright funny...

Ajay the Algerian-American wanted to write poems about peanut-butter, since he felt it was a 'tasty' totem of modern consumerism. Ajay posted his peanut-butter poems on the Internet, and they caught the attention of Hollywood (USA) movie superstar Tom Hanks (star of Punchline, Cast Away, The Ladykillers) who thought the poems were quite 'cute.' Hanks wanted to meet with Ajay, since he got the idea to present his peanut-butter poems for a special stand-up comedy routine on The Tonight Show about the 'folly' of American commerce/consumerism.

AJAY: I'm psyched you like my poems.
HANKS: Well, I love peanut-butter...
AJAY: That's clever to use my poems for a comedy routine.
HANKS: Consumerism is funny, Ajay!
AJAY: I suppose it is; I suppose you're an advocate of Planet Hollywood.
HANKS: That's a zesty movie-industry based restaurant franchise.
AJAY: You can buy peanut-butter on Amazon.com now...
HANKS: I know; that's really remarkable.
AJAY: Yes, commerce has suddenly become 'convenient.'
HANKS: What America needs is a priestly bandleader for shopping.
AJAY: I see what you mean; sort of a 'Dr. Seuss of the Home Shopping Network.'
HANKS: Precisely; shoppers want to feel 'excited' about available goods.
AJAY: Yes, we've come a long way from the League of Nations.
HANKS: And if the World Bank is to shine, Americans should embrace QVC.
AJAY: I prefer QVC to HSN; perhaps my peanut-butter poems will stand out!
HANKS: I'd imagine the success of the comedy routine will make people remember.
AJAY: Americans make the best toys (Hasbro, Mattel, Fisher-Price).
HANKS: Ajay, perhaps consumerism will create a 'peace-torch.'

Ajay recognized that Tom Hanks was not only a creative actor but also a shrewd society critic and therefore understood how Ajay's 'cute' peanut-butter poems could be used for special public statements (in the press/media, etc.) about the human value of commerce and why consumerism encourages friendship and trust in the modern world. After all, there was now a Burger King in Afghanistan, the nation which housed the terrorist-group the Taliban (associated with Osama bin Laden). Ajay decided that he'd blog on the Internet about why his peanut-butter poems (which Tom Hanks used for a comedy-routine about consumerism) could serve as 'capitalism trophies.' Would commerce prevail over the forces of anarchy?
