this is just an ancectodal observation, but having worked on the oil patch, in conctruction and fast food, and as a bar owner......felon's voting preferences when it comes to democrats is skewed GREATLY by race. I've been aquainted with serveral ex con's here in Texas who identify as libertarian or conservative, and out of those, all are white except for one old black guy(vietnam vet from arkansas) and a second generation Iranian.
