Poland 1939 vs Ukraine 2022- Historical Parallel?

Democracies don't have violent revolutions, period.

h really? I can list off a slew of them, starting with both England and the US Colonies. Because I would call not only the English Civil War a violent revolution, they do not call what the US colonies did the "Revolutionary War" peaceful either.

One really has to be careful making statements like that. Especially when those who know history can prove them to be false. You also have the Yellow Revolution, and if I want to think on it can come up with many more. But you should know that simply believing in axioms does not make them real.

Especially since "Democracies" are in general the most unstable for of government there are. Which is why so many of them fail.

What are you barking about? England was no democracy in the 17th century, when Ukraine became independent it passed for a democracy but when the result went against the Bandera rabble and their western backers the elected Government was overthrown, in a democracy that happens with elections..

England was no democracy in the 17th century

Obviously you do not know your history all that well. Parliament which included the House of Commons has existed since the 14th century. And can be traced back to 1265. Further ratified in the Treaty of Union when Great Britain was created in 1707. Which was the entire basis of the English Civil War which started in 1639, which was because the King was refusing to recognize the right of Parliament. So King Chuck I exited the Game of Thrones a head shorter than he was when he started it.

Who do you think elects the Prime Minister? And has the "right of the purse strings" in the UK? That is the House of Commons, elected from the common people by the common people.

Seems to me you really do not know what a "democracy" is, or a Republic for that matter.

In the 17th century the parliament was not elected by the common people, only about 2% of the population had a vote, as for the prime Minister no one elects him or her they are appointed by the Governing Party, Sunak became prime minister after he won the Tory party leadership, same with that stupid Woman Liz Blundertruss, democracy my arse.

I quite clearly stated the House of Commons. And that was also the way it was in the US also at it's founding, don't forget. In the US, only white males who owned property and were 21 or older could vote.

So your point is what, exactly?

That England was no democracy as we would know one today.

Stalin my arse, no need for all that bullshit, i gave you the numbers about the 2010 election, there was no promise on EU relations Yanukovych wanted to look at what was on offer before deciding, what was on offer was more debt and austerity for the Ukrainians, Russia was a better bet, and Putin started nothing the Fascists in Kiev did when they rejected the deal that was agreed between the Maidan leaders and Yanukovych in February 2014, the Nationalist extremist supported by the US overthrew the Government those are the facts whether you like them or not.
As Mushroom said, the 2014 overthrow of Putin's puppet (Yanukovych) was a revolt, often called Revolution of Dignity. Putin is the authoritarian war monger who acts like a FASCIST. Putin is a nationalistic WAR CRIMINAL who is terrorizing Ukraine and wants to convert them into his archaic Russian culture. Genocide!
Maybe you can learn from this:

"In November 2013, a wave of large-scale protests known as "Euromaidan" began in response to President Yanukovych's decision not to sign a political association and free trade agreement with the European Union (EU), instead choosing closer ties to Russia. Earlier that year the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament) had overwhelmingly approved finalizing the agreement; Russia had pressured Ukraine to reject it. The scope of the protests widened, with calls for the resignation of Yanukovych and the Azarov government. Protesters opposed what they saw as widespread government corruption and abuse of power, the influence of Russia and oligarchs, police brutality, human rights violations, and repressive anti-protest laws".

Like saying there was a Palestine ?

Are you talking a nation, or a region?

The region has been there since antiquity. But it was just the name of the region, it was never a "country". No different than say "Death Valley", "New England", "Middle East", or one of hundreds of other words I can throw out that describe a region and not a specific nation.

As far as a "Nation of Palestine", that is entirely a modern creation. And to be honest, for most purposes Israel is also a modern creation. As the original "Kingdom of Israel" was not existed since around 720 BCE. And only existed for 208 years.
