They have the right to assemble "peacefully", but when the protests turn into riots, as the BLM events always do, then it's time for the police to clean up the streets using whatever power is needed to do so quickly and efficiently. These people are thugs and thieves.

Looting is not peaceful assembly. Attacking innocent people is not peaceful assembly. Burning down buildings and destroying businesses is not peaceful assembly. Looters should be shot on sight.
