There are only two types of police reform the American public want..
When they don't feel threatened by crime, they wonder why we need so many police at all.
When they become a victim of crime, they cry vociferously that we don't have enough police.
Naw, man, I've been a victim of crime, and frankly, never really wanted more cops.
Most of the time it's happened, the cops didn't show up until it was too late, and really didn't do that much to help. They were.. kind of useless for the amount of money we pay them for.
That's the inconvenient truth. I heard Hannity the other day say, "what are you going to do when someone is breaking in and you and your family are home"? It was an odd thing to say because clearly the cops aren't going to be at your home in 20 seconds even if you did call, so you better be armed. It will take you 30 seconds just to tell 9/11 your situation.
I support good police, and I prefer those in uniform who do a decent job compared to the plain clothed, who at least in Canada, are operating a racket that has destroyed our civil liberties and economy. When I heard a relatively conservative mayor of a major city say, "we had no choice, we had to decide whether to feed hungry children or meet the demands of the police union in the city', I knew we were being held over a barrel, and the guys doing it didn't give a damn about who paid a price. I've met many of these operatives in Canada, they are the most disgusting among it.
In Canada, we either choose to get police budgets in line, or, we choose to continue our downward spiral on GDP per capita and standard of living. If the UN or any group tries to convince the world Canada is going in the right direction, they are simply lying. I see it all with my own two eyes, and I hear the stories.
