Wouldn't the intervention of a god violate the "free will" of a person?

I find it a bit contradictory that a god won't intervene in the murder of an innocent person but will help a kid on a math test.

Which is why them people should be told to help teach the kids to read if they have to be at the schools at all. Reading to them isn't going to give them the ability to read any sooner.

A great example happens during the film named Frequency starring Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel. One nurse during that film was not killed because one of the lead characters kept her company which led the murderer to giving up, at least on that one nurse anyway.
