The elections are over, the right-wing party is declining due to leaving PMs and internal scandals: A good time to push the actual agendas further. Germany´s minister of the interior de Maizière (CDU) proposes official Islamic holidays in regions with many Muslims. The right moment for SPD-Caliph Schulz, whose party is currently the most popular despite the historic plight in the elections, to agree and inch closer to a possible Grand Coalition.
The maliciousness of Maizière´s plan is obvious, why didn´t he campaign with his idea?
"Yet, the Interior Minister’s suggestion did not win strong support from his own party.
“In Germany, public holidays have a long tradition, I don’t see any reason to change this now,” Bernd Althusmann, the CDU’s premier candidate in Lower Saxony, told local media on Thursday.
Germany is home to nearly 4.7 million Muslims, and they constitute nearly 5.7 percent of the population.
Many of them are second- or third-generation Turkish families who migrated to the country in the 1960s."
