Hypocritical, bigoted, segregationist neocon lefties win again.
She didn't insist they never speak Spanish. Just not while at school. And for very good reasons. Part of their job is to prepare kids for a future as Americans and that involves encouraging assimilation.
Also, it's important that staff manage a level of discipline and if students are saying very disrespectful things about the adults in a language those adults don't understand then that level of discipline is being undermined.

A principal who allegedly told students of a Texas school not to speak Spanish in class has lost her job, and the FBI has been asked to investigate possible civil rights violations.

The Houston Chronicle reported that the Hempstead school board will not renew the contract of middle school principal Amy Lacey, who has been on administrative leave since December after reportedly saying over the school's intercom that students were not to speak Spanish on campus.
