Proof in writing that this country was not founded on any religion.

And yet the two and a half century long Congressional appointment of the Congressional chaplain still Trump's anything you got.
Two and a half centuries of violating the Constitution makes it legal?!

All the conservative types are always talking about a christian nation and christian values, well it turns out that this isn't and never was a christian nation, at least according to the authors of the Tripoli treaty.

It states very clearly that the nation is not in any was founded on the christian religion in the words of John Adams himself.

You would think that this would remove all doubt, but as the short thread on the same subject that was so helpfully closed showed us, there are still plenty of folks who will argue the point.

Tell us, why do you think they would write this if it's not true?

Were you going for the dumbest post of the day? Or was it by accident?

What violation? Numbnuts the founders who wrote the constitution and appointed the first Congressional chaplain would know better than you.

The Office of the Chaplain is nonpartisan, nonpolitical, and nonsectarian. To date, all Senate chaplains have been of Christian denomination, while guest chaplains have represented many of the world's major religious faiths.

About the Senate Chaplain

This is neither a Christian nation or government.
Most of the people are Christians or claim to be.

God promised that the descendants of Israel, specifically the son of Joseph, Manasseh, would become a great "nation".

Manasseh fled to northwestern Europe with the other tribes of "the house of Israel" of the northern kingdom.

Jesus was sent only to the "lost sheep of the house of Israel" where his church was established.

Christianity grew among the descendants of the northern kingdom in northwestern Europe according to God's plan.

Christianity came to the New World with the descendants of Manasseh and the other tribes and became a great nation as promised and prophesied.

The promise of a great nation, the Christian people who received the promise, and the fulfillment of the promise strongly suggests that America is a Christian nation.

Judeo-Christian principles have been part of our culture since Day 1. It was so implicit that they didn't even bother to write it down (in the Constitution). There were no atheists among the Founders. They started each session with a prayer to "the Almighty."

They did not promote or demand adherence to any particular religion, and found Unitarianism and other unorthodox religions to be perfectly fine.

Many of the early laws and penal codes throughout the States were based on Biblical principles, outlawing things like pornography, sodomy, gambling, commerce on the Sabbath, "indecency," and so on. People were fined, censured, and even were incarcerated for violation of these laws, which today we consider "victimless." The Founders would have fainted if exposed to modern cultural phenomena like "gay marriage," and "sex assigned at birth."

It is undeniable that ALL of these movements that are counter to the historical culture have originated on the political Left. I hope they are proud.

OK Saint_Woodznutz - What percentages of the population in the 1790s do you have firm data that it would’ve been more than 20% of the population who religiously were adherents and believers in the doctrines of Christianity?
