Gadsden flag coming off crane after Folly Beach residents complain – The Post and Courier

I'd never believe it if it wasn't true. The Red State lunacy and hypocrisy just keeps rolling out. For one, this morning's paper showed Tea Party Queen Nikki Haley's approval rating in SC in 43%, while Barack Obama's approval rating in SC is 47%. Yep, in the reddest of red states, Obama out-polls the Tea Party Queen. Wow.

But, the link provided shows an interesting story. A PRIVATE company was doing work on a few government owned piers on Folly Beach. That company was using a crane that displayed the "Dont Tread On Me" flag. A common flag in this red state. Well, some citizens of Folly Beach complained to the mayor (Folly, btw, is extremely liberal, kinda a mini San Fran on the beach here in SC).

So, the mayor asked the private company to take the flag down.

The irony? This private compnay displayed the anti-government flag, the flag that symbolizes the stance against taxation. And that very company GLADLY accepted a job that pays them with government tax dollars!!!

"Dont Tread On Me...........UNLESS you are a government that is willing to pay me with other people's tax dollars to work, then, sure, TREAD ON THEM and pay me with their tax money"

Dont think that the updated flag with the above quote "TREAD ON THEM" is coming out in red states anytime soon.

You have to admit it is pretty funny a government contractor put a Gadsden flag on his equipment.

However, the Gadsden flag originated in Charleston, South Carolina. That's why it is called the Gadsden flag, after the Charleston man who presented it.

I dont like the government running all over me. And luckily, it doesn't happen. I follow our laws, and they work. I live a happy, free, comfortable life in America. In part thanks to having a functional government.

These private sector heroes obviously had problems with the government. They flew the anti-tax flag proudly. Until it came time to accept other people's tax money as payment.

Until it came time for them to accept a job.....from the government. At which point they took down their Dont Tread On Me flag.

When the government (local, state, or federal) is out-of-control, oppressive, and tramples on the U.S. Constitution, then the phrase "Don't Tread On Me" is perfectly appropriate.

So, at about 300,000, in a nation of 300,000,000, that would be 1 in 100. 1 in 100 people will have to use a gun in self defense in a year. I live in a city of about 100,000. And I can guarantee...just by reading local news, that there are not 1,000 people in my city who've had to use a gun to defend themselves in the past year. If the number were that high, the media would be in hysteria about the massive crime wave.....but it is not, because it hasn't happened.

That stat is simply inaccurate.

Last I checked: 300,000 out of 300,000,000 is 1/1000 (one in one-thousand) not 1/100
