Red State Voucher Schools: The Right To Be Ignorant

The answer of "don't live there" does nothing to help the kids that are taught this bullshit in the first place. Ignoring the fact that kids are being taught lies is not a virtue.

If you don't want your kids taught bullshit, don't teach them from Mother Jones....

I agree. Teach them to ask questions and honestly look at primary sources instead of propaganda pieces.

ok you are talking about Tech in schools NOT cutting Technology out in the world....right?....

There is some misconception here.

Apple computer is the master of marketing. The technology they offer is mediocre at best. To promote substandard Macs, Apple has, from the 80's, donated huge numbers of Apple products to public schools. The idea was that this would entice parents to buy Apple to be compatible, and would train children to use Apple rather than Microsoft paradigms. While a Mac costs double or triple what it's worth, schools virtually never pay that price. The computers are either from a grant, or sharply discounted to public schools.

At the time Apple owned the lion's share of the market, they did have the best technology, especially in graphics and with their icon based interface. Apple would even epoxy their boards to keep anyone from copying them. Reverse engineering would destroy the components.

Starting with the 8086, the microprocessor was licensed and clones flooded the market. Once icon based Windows came out and Pentium based processors hit the market, it was game over for Apple.

It was smart of Apple to give computers to schools, but today's GOP might consider that "socialism" and therefore, "evil".

Those who can......teach

Those who can't teach pass laws and try to dictate to those who are.

That's the thing about you Quantum.

I guess that explains Democrat policy. Pass laws an try to dictate what to teach. Because you cant teach.

Teaching involves students actually learning. Our current public school system clearly lacks alot of teachers. At least according to your standards. because students arent learning.

Shocking you still cant admit that it's the GOP who advocate personal charity. It's the Dems that advocate legalized Robbery.

Honesty I can deal with. Debate I can deal with. Smacking people around with neg reps are cowardly. By turning it off I now force people to face up to me instead of hiding behind the reps.

How many times have you tip-toed around someone you disagreed with that had a lot of rep power so as to not anger them? Plenty I'll bet.

About the Party :: TexasGOP - Republican Party of Texas

We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that are simply a relabeling of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) (mastery learning) which focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority.

Yea, don't let them question those "fixed" beliefs.

If a school system is lacking in teachers it's usually because the pay is low, the working conditions suck, morons who don't know what it's like to teach try to dictate policy and they have to put up with asshole parents who say their kids never do anything wrong.

Sholdn't the title of that article be "14 Wacky Claims About what Schools Teach if we don't let Unions Have Complete Control?" Are you aware that some of the best high schools in the country at preparing students for college are private religious schools?

I think you got that quote wrong.

Prov. People who are able to do something well can do that thing for a living, while people who are not able to do anything that well make a living by teaching. (Used to disparage teachers. From George Bernard Shaw's Man and Superman.) Bob: I'm so discouraged. My writing teacher told me my novel is hopeless. Jane: Don't listen to her, Bob. Remember: those who can, do; those who can't, teach.

By the way, my point was that the article is a complete lie, not that the laws are right.

Apple never owned the lion's share of the market.

Last time I looked, you claimed that the GOP liked rich corporations, why would they hate Apple?

He is creating a straw man. He is trying to claim we would hate them because they were charitable donating computers to schools. We would have no problem with that. Even though I am not sure whether the donations were purely altruistic. (Thankfully, that's not my place to decide).

See, he is trying to set up the argument that since we oppose politicians taking other peoples money and giving that money to their special interests (Which probably includes him in some way), we are opposed to individuals or groups voluntarily giving of themselves.

He is trying to confuse and thus decieve people about what we actually believe.

Funny, I dont watch Fox much. probably watch CNN as much.

Just because people can think for themselves and reach the same conclusion doesn't mean we are watching Fox.

It just means people can think. An ability sorely lacking in our current educational programs.

Your so called facts are as usual a list of lies made up by a lying libtard. Better being taught the truth of the bible then go to public school and filled with lies while being indoctrinated to obamaland.
until you prove what is written in the Bible is absolute proof.....your kid maybe learning lies there too.....and it is kind of an indoctrination too.....
