Regarding Trump And DeSantis. Anyone Have That Gut Feeling That Ron DeSantis May Overtake Trump As The Nominee?

Some of us have that sixth sense. And we are all watching DeSantis closely now as he is getting a lot of free air time. Will he become like Trump when Trump was running? Trump didn't even need to air ads back in 2015/2016. And he won. Ron DeSantis is already in the same situation, only in this scenario he is getting so much free air time long before the 2024 election. He is probably split between republicans at this point. If they start taking polls, odds are it's gonna be a 50/50, 48/52, or a 49/51 result. Is Trump starting to worry? :dunno:

DeSantis’ biggest opposition will be Trump

Trump will turn the wrath of MAGA against DeSantis and label him a RINO

And it won't matter.

In 2020, conservatives voted for Trump en masse because there was no conservative alternative. It was Trump or the diaper wearer.

I vote d for Trump twice. If DeSantis gets into the mix, he'll represent that conservative alternative that voters on the right would greatly prefer. DeSantis could also take voters from the middle who liked Trump's policies but couldn't stand his antics. Hell, I know democrats who say they'd vote for DeSantis over Biden.

Biden is so damaged at this point that, if the democrats don't find someone else who's actually viable, they'll lose the White House in two years. These mid-terms are already going to be a referendum on Biden and, by every indication, next month is going to mark the beginning of some sad times for the left. The left needs a dynamic, viable, likeable candidate who hasn't spent his or her career fucking things up six ways to Sunday...

A Trump/DeSantis ticket would have the best chance of winning. If the primaries turn into a cage match between them then the Ds could have a chance if they chose a candidate that could deny being a Socialist and not have a record of running a state into the ground.

I hope they can work it out between them. If DeSantis is seen to be attacking Trump for illegitimate reasons, getting personal, and so on, Trump's supporters will go scorched earth.

Not for a moment.

I can't see DeSantis stabbing his friend in the back and primarying him. The Florida governor just seems to be too decent for that.

If DeSantis were to turn on his mentor, it would be like when Zbyszko turned on Bruno back in 1980. It would reveal him as a dirty rat and that would guarantee his defeat.

I would not be willing to vote for either one of them. The Republican Party needs to find a walk-the-talk Traditionalist Conservative ideologue if they ever want my vote for POTUS again.

Do you see dead people?

If DeSantis runs that's what Trump will be. It doesn't take much of a "sixth sense" to figure that one out. DeSantis would win the nomination in a walk.

Trump served his purpose and fucked-up the dem's minds with the TDS but most folks I know would prefer a much more steady hand at the helm with a America first and stick it to the dems attitude.

I say Trump/DeSantis team up for an unbeatable combo. Then Trump serves his one remaining term, and DeSantis is positioned for two presidential terms - and he won’t yet be 50. While DeSantis is VP, he can have REAL duties, and first up is to control the border.

Twelve years of a Republican WH can save the country from what Dems have planned for it.

Desantis should run and be his own entity. It's time. I'd support him in a millisecond over trump.

Sounds good to me.

As "MAGA" whoever the nominee is, will get my vote. Both are excellent.

Right now I prefer letting Trump have his FIRST term.

That won't happen. Neither will serve as the Number 2 man

I think that is very likely. I think many Trump supporters would tell their friends that they will be voting for Trump and hope DeSantis will be his running mate, and/or the nominee in 2028, but then vote DeSantis when they get in the voting booth.

It would be a mistake for Trump to trash DeSantis in the primary, but I believe Trump would make that mistake if the primary got close.

Best thing for the country is for Trump to step down and back DeSantis. If for no other reason than Trump is 76 years old. He's a remarkably healthy and robust seventy-six year old, but that is exactly the type who suddenly drop dead with no warning.
