No. He was already an assistant to an US Attorney in the DOJ. Obama didn't fire him. Obama nominated Weiss for no role.
His first job was with Reagan. He left and came back with W. And he's worked as an assistant to the US Attorney or a US attorney ever since.
The first time he was nominated for US Attorney.....was in February of 2018 when Trump nominated him.
