Republicans storm closed-door hearing to protest impeachment inquiry

House Republicans stormed a closed-door hearing Wednesday morning to protest Democrats' impeachment inquiry process, breaking up the deposition of a top Defense Department official who was testifying about President Trump's dealings with Ukraine.

Republicans storm closed-door hearing to protest impeachment inquiry

Awww, poor, unruly Republicans. Crying like babies because they don't have access to those hearings -- even though there are Republicans who serve on the investigating committees; and whining that this isn't an official impeachment inquiry because there was no House vote -- even though there's never been a House rule mandating a full House vote to authorize an impeachment inquiry.

Regardless of one's view on impeachment, why do you think our Congress behaving like a banana republic is acceptable?

I asked that question during the Kavanaugh confirmation, Sen. Grassley was a partisan ass.
^^^^^Russian Asset^^^^^^

Kavanaugh was Innoncent, and you people are pathological unhinged liars.

Kavanaugh was innoncent?

No, he was confirmed by a tiny minority - in a criminal matter the jury would have been hung, and an unbiased judge would have declared a mistrial. Then an honest and non partisan prosecutor would file for a new trial.
My socks smell like Rotten Russian Potatoes....Oh...that's your breath coming through my screen. Don't you have some vodka to gargle with?

Yah that is right, at age 17 Kavanaugh was a Drug King Pin, and Super Pimp hosting Sex Trains where 16-17 year old kids could line up all night long, smoke crack and get their rocks off.

AND THE ENTIRE TOWN and THE ENTIRE STATE he lived in, managed to keep this A COMPLETE SECRET. Not even a single witness came forward.
Not even after 40 years?

Geez, with power like that, Kavanaugh should have offed all of his political enemies during his confirmation, Right Ruskie?

All of these NaziCon assholes should have been arrested and prosecuted. However, AG Barr probably thinks it's funny. We are in uncharted waters. We truly have a constitutional crisis.

Why hide?

Mic drop
Who's hiding? There are Democrats and Republicans participating in these hearings. Next time, try not to drop the mic on your foot.
No transcript? No open hearings? Why can’t republicans talk about he hearings in detail?
Who said Republicans can't talk in detail about what they hear?

Oh... you said that.

:lmao:

And little yellow coward pawn shows his idiocy yet again. YOU stated this was akin to a grand jury. Grand jury testimony can not be made public by law. So, yeah you’re the moron here, as usual.

It's about time except they didn't protest the impeachment hearings, they protested being shut out of the impeachment hearings while democrats leaked selected (edited?) testimony to their minions in the media.
And Gowdy did EXACTLY the same leaking. So you're complaint is hypocritical.

However, like Tres Gowdy, the dems run a risk here of just stringing it out too long … but the witnesses thus far are consistently stating facts that indicated Trump's narrative of events is fake.

The Senate Watergate Committee hearings began in May 1973.

They went on for 14 months before the House Judiciary Committee began its own hearings.

That puts the current inquiry into perspective.

CNN's Wolf Blitzer just reported that Trump had advance knowledge of this unAmerican stunt. This sounds like further obstruction of justice to me.

Well of course it is, but … Trump was trying to create dirt on biden. Reprehensible and illegal it is.

I mean Monicagate was bizarre, and most of us knew the facts and wanted Bill gone … but impeachment? Trump's dirtier but it's not really a constitutional crises.

Rather than a Congressional impeachment inquiry for Clinton, Ken Starr was appointed as Independent Counsel to investigate Clinton.

He took four years.

After finding Whitewater to be a nothing burger, Starr moved on to the suicide of Vince Foster.

When Vince Foster's suicide didn't pan out, Starr didn't quit. He expanded the investigation into the White House travel office. "Travelgate".

When that didn't nail Clinton, Starr STILL didn't quit.

Starr dug into Madison Guaranty, the Rose Law Firm, and Paula Jones.

When all of that didn't get Clinton, Starr STILL didn't quit.

Ken Starr finally landed on a 22 year old intern and a blue dress. Clinton was ultimately impeached by the Republicans in 1998 over a blowjob.

Over three days, February 1–3, House managers took videotaped closed-door depositions from Monica Lewinsky, Clinton's friend Vernon Jordan, and White House aide Sidney Blumenthal.

Impeachment of Bill Clinton - Wikipedia

Just to put some perspective on the current inquiry.

March 28, 1973:

A crowd of reporters strained against a barrier on the first floor of the Capitol hoping to question the six senators arriving for a politically charged closed-door committee hearing. That hearing had been called at the request of a single witness—a convicted burglar.

On March 28, 1973, the Senate held its first hearing on the Watergate break-in. That nearly five-hour meeting generated so many leaks to the media that committee leaders decided to conduct all future hearings in public session.

U.S. Senate: Watergate Leaks Lead to Open Hearings

It's ironic that the Watergate hearings had so many leaks.

Nixon was so concerned about leaks to the press from within his Administration that he put together a team of "plumbers" to stop them, and that eventually led to the Watergate break-in.

Poetry!

What a pile of horseshit. As explained several times, the Republicans have held closed door hearings in the past, and NOT ONCE did you tards complain.

Furthermore, it has been explained that there are Republicans on the committees holding those hearings, and they are allowed to grill the witnesses for as long as they wish.

Even more, the transcripts of the hearings will be released once the investigation is completed.

And everyone knows none of you will read those transcripts since they are longer than a tweet. You will instead parrot the bite sized lies you are told to parrot, just like you are doing now.

You're all acting like one giant echo chamber now. Spewing the same bullshit you've been fed. A whole flock of parroting rubes with the exact same bullshit talking points.

You need to wise up.

Blow it out your ass, you self righteous prick. You have no idea what I've complained about and haven't complained about before. I didn't even vote for the guy, but you always think you know everything, don't you. Your shitty attitude towards others here alienates a lot of people who actually tend to agree with you most of the time, but you're too arrogant and self centered to see it.

Republicans are behaving like ridiculous children.

This impeachment inquiry is perfectly appropriate, warranted, legal, and Constitutional – there is more than ample evidence of Trump wrongdoing.

Trump is solely responsible for the inquiry and has only himself to blame.

I respect you, Bro. So I will take your response into consideration. Thank you.

I don't care if Trump is impeached or not. But the theatrics of Republicans putting on a show for the rubes as they try to crash a closed door hearing is over the top bullshit.

This is turning into a circus. A real Trump clown show.

I guess you have zero knowledge about how Grand Juries operate.

I guess you have zero knowledge about the fact that impeachment proceedings regarding the president of the United States have always been regarded to be of such national significance that the House has historically required an open vote to proceed and that the proceedings be totally open. But, of course, you're just a disingenuous little prick of a leftist whore who knows damn well this is nothing more than a political movement aimed at the 2020 election and a race against what Burr and Durham's investigation is systematically uncovering about the deep state corruption under the Obama administration. Be careful what you wish for. America already knows that leftist journalists are lying pieces of shit
