If there is a flat tax of 10%, let's say, and basic items like food/clothing/etc - necessities are not taxed... If I am making $50,000 a year and someone millionaire is being taxed at the same rate, how is the millionaire NOT paying his fair share? No one said we would be paying the same amount. He WILL be paying far more than I will be.Do you think we should have a flat tax rate which shifts the burden of revenue to the masses rather than the people who have the most wealth?
If nothing else, many loopholes will be eliminated.
Thousands of pages meant to confuse citizens will be gone.
The govt will no longer be able to use the IRS as a weapon.
