Rick Snyder

Let's not forget, long before Flint decided to do their own water, EPA "tested" and confirmed that Flint river water supply is good.

Only, it wasn't. They lied.

Flint Is Not a Republican Scandal
Flint Is Not a Republican Scandal

In sum: The Democratic government of a Democratic city destroys that city’s finances so thoroughly that it must go into state receivership; a Democratic emergency manager signs off on a consensus plan to use a temporary water source; the municipal authorities in that Democratic city responsible for treating and monitoring drinking water fail to do their job; a state agency whose employees work under the tender attention of SEIU Local 517 fails to do its job overseeing the local authorities; Barack Obama’s EPA, having been informed about the issue, keeps mum.

Republican scandal.

a Democratic emergency manager

Lol, what a clowny article.

The Emergency Manager is appointed directly from the Governor....hence "Republican" Rick Snyder.

There are no "Democratic" emergency managers....d-d-derrrr
That's a good point. He's a career bureaucrat and mostly incompetent. I don't think he has a political leaning. He's mostly about the money.

He did get his start in government by Democrats though. He doesn't mind being used by the Republicans. He makes a fine House Negro, don't he?

Meet Darnell Earley, the man behind Flint’s water crisis
When it comes to local governments, someone up top seems to always like Earley. His career comprises one appointment after another across three decades, with no record of him getting elected to any of his increasingly prominent political posts.

His first appointment came as manager of the Buena Vista Charter Township in 1986, when the town had a population of 13,000. He got plopped into the Michigan House of Representatives' research and policy staff, then into several city government gigs, including a tenure as city manager in Saginaw, where he successfully squashed the City Council’s attempts to curb his lifetime health benefits.

As city manager of Flint, he earned $180,000 a year, more than four times the city’s median salary, records show. In Detroit, he now makes $225,000 — again, more than four times greater the median salary there. Public records indicate he has stayed at the same home in Lansing through nearly all of his jobs — meaning he lives 90 miles away from the latest city he was picked to serve.

Lewis Dodak, speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives, then named Earley as director of research and public policy for the House Democratic Caucus, and he served in this post from 1988 to 1992.[2] From 1993 to 2001, Earley served as Ingham County budget director and deputy controller.[2]

Looks like I have some crow to eat.

The story told by my original source seems to be ill researched and misleading . . .

After his State of the State address which happened a couple days ago, and listening to chatter regarding the issue, it turns out Darnell Early didn't in fact make the decision. It was another EM and treasurer that were responsible for the decision.

That EM responsible for making the decision was Ed Kurtz, the treasurer that signed off was Jerry Ambrose, and the successive EM that did implement the decision was Early. Though, to his credit, he tried to negotiate and after the dire circumstances emerged, switch the water back.

All this information was released by the governor in his emails. It would be nice if Mrs. Clinton was so forth coming.

Who approved switch to Flint River? State’s answers draw fouls

BridgeTruth Squad: Who approved switch to Flint River?

Now, we can sit around and cast blame, but it is nice to see an open and transparent accounting, even if it is after the fact.

Note, this piece does not address what the EPA or the DEQ did, or more accurately, failed to do. That is probably irrelevant to the issue though, since the Republicans have EM control over the largest cities on the eastern half of the State and loath government regulation anyway. It would be hypocritical for them to pin it on regulatory ineptitude.
Reporter’s notebook: Some state officials still in denial or misinformed over Flint River decision
I mean, that's a given, right? :bang3:

How about the staff at the water treatment plant who didn't know how to do the job?

I'm not sure that this is water that could be treated...

In the reading I have done, they tried, it cause chemical burns and rashes in some folks.

Excrement floats to the top. Snyder is by no means innocent nor is it his fault alone. This is not a Republican scandal, its a lack of leadership on many levels, including the governor.

you see here is the ugly and the lies that the left/lib makes up and spreads.

they are tearing this country apart

This country works much better divided than it ever could united. This tearing apart stuff is pure bunk. And Snyder has a role in this so he is not innocent.

DHHS lied to everyone. The mayor, the council, the public, the Governor. You name it. They lied. They falsified data for heavens sake.

Seriously if you were the Governor would you even consider your DHHS personnel were lying their asses off over lead contamination?

Does he really hate black people or is just a greedy sociopath?
Hes getting sued personally.

The flint lead poisoning story is proof the media is corporate not liberal. How is it Republicans aren't going to suffer from this fine example of what happens when Republicans/corporations control all 3 houses
