Rittenhouse hit by another Lawsuit

The real mistake was when the people Kyle pointed his rifle at didn't rush him and kill him. They could have saved two lives that day.
Saved two and lost how many more? Had they rushed him, there's a good chance some of them would 6 feet under today. Probably smart for them they didn't.

The other guy shouldn't have been there either. He doesn't have much to stand on, especially as he's testified already that he threatened Rittenhouse's life.
None of them should have been there. It was past the legally instituted curfew.

Exactly, so for him to actually win his case, he has to somehow gain the moral high ground. That's going to be difficult, because:

1. He wasn't supposed to be there at all, so he can't claim he was an innocent bystander.
2. He testified under oath that he aimed his own gun at Rittenhouse first, which takes away any claim to stand your ground.

Basically, he has to somehow persuade a jury that he's a more sympathetic person than the cherubic Rittenhouse.

I agree with many of your points, except its not the moral high ground, but who is more negligent.

Now add in the illegal rifle, not his property or town, the video of him talking about shooting shoplifters, and getting this above 50% is much more likely. Add in that he's not getting the legal defense he had before (I'd give good money that pushed over a cool $1.0MM in legal fees and research), and its game on.

AsS noted he beat the criminal charges but this is a case study in what an LTCer should not do.

For a sure loser? Not good ones. $1000 on retainer for a day or two in court.

Since, you know, it's such a frivolous lawsuit that will get laughed out of court.

Hell, one wouldn't even need a lawyer for that.
Here...read about SLAPPs and understand that using lawsuits to damage plaintiffs financially with no hope of winning is nothing new...

his town?

no, he lived 10 miles away.

However, his estranged father had a residence there.

It was his friends gun, via a straw purchase.

BOTH boys should have faced charges on that action.

Nice to see Kyle getting the cad press he deserves. It’s just too bad he’ll likely win this thing. Not enough bad things can happen to this kid for my liking.

he also worked there and had family there,, who are you to tell another person what is theirs??

Bottom line is that Grosskreutz is not going into this proceeding with clean hands.
That will carry a lot of weight.
This is true. It will be an interesting case.
One difficulty of course is that the shooting had started before him.

The other big part of this trial we are glossing over is that both suits are also suing the city and police. They have some issues as the police had no issue with the armed doods. GK might lose against Rittenhouse but win against the city.
