I bet if you asked the GOP base, most of them think the marketing campaign was just swell and they're just mystified as all get out that a sizeable majority of Americans didn't strain a few muscles in an effort to jump on their bandwagon. If you don't believe it, just listen to talk radio for a while. They STILL can't believe that they didn't win by a landslide.

Get off your high horse! No one panders like the GOP panders to the unfounded, unsubstantiated, and downright irrational fears of its base. The whole birther movement is a testimony to that fact.
